Data Collection
Starting With Today strives to minimize the potential
stress and mistrust that can result from asking
questions perceived as “too personal” or intrusive. It
is our goal to find the delicate balance between
building a trusting relationship with our clients and
collecting information to provide an accurate
snapshot of the population being served. Therefore
questions regarding financial stability, employment
status and general wellness are only asked at
workshops that directly address those topics.
Limitations
 Due to late arrivals and early departures all
participants did not complete both General
information forms and Surveys.

  • 3. Data Collection Starting With Today strives to minimize the potential stress and mistrust that can result from asking questions perceived as “too personal” or intrusive. It is our goal to find the delicate balance between building a trusting relationship with our clients and collecting information to provide an accurate snapshot of the population being served. Therefore questions regarding financial stability, employment status and general wellness are only asked at workshops that directly address those topics.
  • 4. Limitations  Due to late arrivals and early departures all participants did not complete both General information forms and Surveys.
  • 5. Changes in data collection General Information Form  Race and gender were added.  “Current Status” questions were expanded  “How did you learn about this workshop?” was added to assess which marketing strategies were most effective. Exit Survey  Workshop specific items were expanded from 3 – 4 items to 10 - 12.  Items are better aligned to workshop content. Both General Information forms and Exit Surveys were revised for the 2015 fiscal year
