GIRLS VARSITY HOCKEY
Yesterday the girls hosted Twin Lakes in their third
regular season game.
Our Spartans took control of the game from the
drop of the puck, finishing with a 6-0 victory.
Great job by the girls, especially Madelaine Holland
who earned her first shutout, Ashley Harvey who
scored a hat trick and other goals scored by each
Mackenzie Wilson, Rachel Goortz and Ryleigh
Bradley.
Next week the girls head to Barrie to take on
Nouvelle Alliance.

16. JUNIOR & SENIOR BOYS BASKETBALL
Boys travelled to Elmvale last night to
take on the Eagles.
Juniors came back from a big deficit, but
couldn’t quite pull it off, falling short 36-
30. Jordan Taylor lead with 11 points,
Dean Caughill added 8 points, Gavin
Proud had 3 steals and Jacob Underhill
had 3 steals and 3 assists.
Seniors lost to Elmvale, but still
managed to score 53 points against last
year’s GB champs, with Derek Niessl
scoring 25 of those, including five 3
pointers. Also great performing from
Daniel Proud, Devlyn Lohnes and
Kashtin Winchester and good team
effort from everyone.
18. STUDENTS 4 SOUP CHALLENGE
Congratulations to Renata Phillips &
Caitlin Rafters on their top 3 finish
last Friday at the Students4Soup
Challenge at Georgian College.
They created an original recipe and
competed against several other
schools, most of which have a
hospitality program.
They represented SCI with
confidence and came home with a
$500 knife set for their efforts.
