1. Social-Psychological Analysis Of JoeChemo.org
At the 1st glance of joechemo.org, whatimpressed me most was the introduction of Joe Chemo, “The
Smoker Camel”. The 1st impression is sointelligent, as it showed some horrible facts about smoking
with a peculiar sense of humor. This kind of Intro makes viewers to read the whole part of the writing
and gives them the interest to know more about the bad side of smoking.
Below, I am showing my depth opinion about the important parts of the websites in short:
1. Test your tobacco IQ :
In this section, a viewer can take part of some basic questions about smoking. Questions are simple and
based on common sense, but what makes it so different from a typical pole is the quick answering
method and realistic and reliable facts,which I found very effective and persuasive.
I took the test and found that many ideas are very practical. I am also a smoker and after taking the test,
I certainlyfound that, this quiz has given me the hope to quit smoking.
2. Smoke-o-scope :
In this section, after taking a quick survey, a certain amount of information is showedwith respect to
harmful effects of smoking. Thisis also a positive persuasive approach and have full information.
3. Smokin’links :
This section includesfull of websites related to various tobacco related companies. To check out further
and to see how the Multi-national companies are persuading this harmful behavior, this part has enough
evidence to show.
My research about persuasion of joechemo.org :
I suggested 50 of my known people to use this site & let me know about thier thought about this site.
10 of them are chain smokers, 10 of them smokers occasionally, 15 of them are teens & 15 of them are
non smokers.
 Most of the chain smokers said: Website is really good & helpful. & they will try to stop
smoking.
(i personally believe that they will not quite by this.)
 Most of the Occasionally smokers : This site was really helpful & showed them something
important.
(I personally believe that Occasional Smokerswill quite smoking by this)

2.  Most of the teens said: site contains some valuable lesson for them. They will not try to test
smokingever.
 Most of the Non-Smokers said: Authority should promote this site more to smokers. It’ll really
help smokers. & they are aware of the bad effects of smoking & after watching this site they will
not try smoking. & they will also suggest this site to Smokers.
Conclusion of this research: This website is more effective for Adult Non-smokers. It’ll prevent them to
smoke. & it’s not really effective for Chain smokers. & for teens. It’s a good method to prevent them
from smoking but it’s not the best way. I prefer a peripheral way, something that is connected with their
emotions.
My opinion :
I found this website effective. Though the site is small, but it has so much to share and to see. The
details given here, the wit of the writing and the mascot has been so good. The sense of humor gives the
viewers the calmness to stay with the writing and their detail sourcing is subjective with respect to their
topic.Another cool thing is that, small writings. While the big, bulky with boring and tough worded
descriptions are often so clumsy and boring, these small descriptions with details gives the enjoyment to
the viewers and it’s a kind of test to their mentality whether they are willing to leave smoking or not.
Their motive is clear and with their clever andinformative writing they got the edge.
I found their Tobacco IQ Test so persuasive. It has the interesting polling, good information materials
and reliable links for more information, which I found veryeffective. I think for the people who really
want to quit smoking these information are enough horrible and scary to leave this bad effect behind
and to start a new and fresh life.Another thingis, they showed some environmental effects in their
links,which can be a massive turn-on to quit smoking.
To make this website more persuasive, they can certainly change add some things. They can add some
interactive online games, videos to make the viewer’s enjoy while showing them the harmful effects of
smoking.Another thingis, they should work with their design.As their main target viewers are young
and teenage smokers, they should design it in more interesting aspect.
My opinion to make this website better:
People are more likely to read instructions & numbersless than Interactive photos & animations. So, i
prefer to add more animations, Interactive photos & less writings. In one sentence, peripheral

3. persuasion techniques can make this program a success.
I had a few yearsexperience of working as a social media marketeer. My suggestion is we can use some
social media apps to make this website more popular. Now a days Social media marketing is a really
effective way to get to the people you want more quickly & more easily.
Conclusion:
joechemo.orgis a great way to prevent smoking. Somehow it’s effective for some people, butfor some
it’s not working. I belive we can make this website more persuasive & effecitve to all kind of people. My
bestwishes are with this website. I hope some day we will see a Smoke free world.
