The Proclamation of the Word
A READING FROM THE BOOK OF EZEKIEL
Read by Rueben Russouw
Thus says the Lord God: I myself will searchfor my sheep, and
will seek them out. As shepherds seek out their flocks when they
are among their scattered sheep, so I will seek out my
sheep. I will rescue them from all the places to which they have
been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. I will bring
them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries,
and will bring them into their own land; and I will feed them on
the mountains of Israel, by the watercourses, and in all the
inhabited parts of the land. I will feed them with good pasture,
and the mountain heights of Israel shall be their pasture; there
they shall lie down in good grazing land, and they shall feed on
rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. I myself will be the
shepherd of my sheep, and I will make them lie down, says the
Lord God. I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed,
and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, but
the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them with justice.
The word of the Lord: Thanks be to God.
PSALM (said responsively)
On the holy mountain stands the city he has founded;
the Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the
dwellings of Jacob.
Glorious things are spoken of you,
O city of our God.
I count Egypt and Babylon among those who know me;
behold Philistia, Tyre, and Ethiopia: in Zion were they born.
Of Zion it shall be said, “Everyone was born in her,
and the Most High himself shall sustain her.”
The Lord will record as he enrols the peoples,
“These also were born there.”
The singers and the dancers will say,
“All my fresh springs are in you.”
Glory be to the Father and to the Son:
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be:
world without end Amen.
A READING FROM THE SECOND LETTER OF PAUL TO TIMOTHY
Read by Joyce Connell
In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the
living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom,
I solemnly urge you: proclaim the message; be persistent whether
the time is favourable or unfavourable; convince, rebuke, and
encourage, with the utmost patience in teaching. For the time is
coming when people will not put up with sound doctrine, but
having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers
to suit their own desires, and will turn away from listening to the
truth and wander away to myths. As for you, always be sober,
endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, carry out your
ministry fully. As for me, I am already being poured out as a
libation, and the time of my
departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished
the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for
me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the
righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but
also to all who have longed for his appearing.
The word of the Lord: Thanks be to God.
Hymn before the Gospel (Darwell)
Thou art the Christ, O Lord,
the Son of God most high!
For ever be adored
that Name in earth and sky,
in which, though mortal strength may fail,
the saints of God at last prevail!
O surely he was blest
with blessedness unpriced,
who, taught of God, confessed
the Godhead in the Christ!
For of thy Church, Lord, thou didst own
thy saint a true foundation-stone.
Thrice fallen, thrice restored!
The bitter lesson learned,
that heart for thee, O Lord,
with triple ardor burned.
The cross he took he laid not down
until he grasped the martyr's crown.
O bright triumphant faith,
O courage void of fears!
O love most strong in death,
O penitential tears!
By these, Lord, keep us lest we fall,
and make us go where thou shalt call.
The Gospel
Gospeller: The Lord be with you.
All: And also with you.
Gospeller: The Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ
according to John.
All: Glory to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,
“Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to
him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to
him, “Feed my lambs.” A second time he said to him, “Simon son
of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know
that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to
him the third time, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter
felt hurt because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?”
And he said to him, “Lord, you know everything;
you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.
Very truly, I tell you, when you were younger, you used to fasten
your own belt and to go wherever you wished. But when you grow
old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will fasten a
belt around you and take you where you do not wish to go.” (He
said this to indicate the kind of death by which he would glorify
God.) After this he said to him, “Follow me.”
Gospeller: The Gospel of Christ:
All: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Homily: Fr Jonathan Eayrs
Affirmation of Faith (Please stand as able.)
Sung Metrical Creed Hymn 44
Prayers of the People led by Sue Ann Elite
(Please kneel, as able, for the Prayers of the People)
The Exchange of the Peace
(We greet and exchange the Peace of Christ with our neighbours.)
The Celebration of the Eucharist
All who are baptized into Christ with water in the Name of the
Holy Trinity are welcome to receive Holy Communion. If you
will not be receiving, you are invited to come to the Communion
rail for a blessing. Please indicate this by crossing your arms.
Offertory Hymn (Morning Light)
(During this hymn the gifts of bread and wine are presented and
a collection is taken up.)
From all thy saints in warfare, for all thy saints at rest,
to thee, O bless-ed Jesus, all praises be addressed;
thou, Lord, didst win the battle, that they might conquerors be;
their crowns of living glory are lit with rays from thee.
Praise for thy great apostle, the eager and the bold;
thrice falling, yet repentant, thrice charged to keep thy fold.
Lord, make thy pastors faithful to guard their flocks from ill,
and grant them dauntless courage, with humble, earnest will.
Then praise we God the Father, and praise we God the Son,
and God the Holy Spirit, eternal Three in One;
till all the ransomed number fall down before the throne,
and honor, power, and glory, ascribe to God alone.
Prayer over the Gifts: Almighty God, receive all we offer you
on this feast of the apostles. Help us to know our own
weakness and to rejoice in your saving power, in the name of
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Eucharistic Prayer 3 p. 198
The Lord’s Prayer (sung) McNeil Robinson
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name,
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil,
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and for
ever. Amen.
The Breaking of the Bread
Presider: “I am the bread which has come down from
heaven,” says the Lord.
All: Give us this bread for ever.
Presider: “I am the vine, you are the branches.”
All: May we dwell in him, as he lives in us.
Presider: The Gifts of God for the People of God.
All: Thanks be to God.
Doxology (All stand as able)
Presider: All your works praise you, O Lord.
All: And your faithful people bless you.
Gracious God
we thank you for feeding us
with the body and blood of your Son
Jesus Christ.
May we, who share his body,
live his risen life; we, who drink his cup,
bring life to others; we, whom the Spirit lights,
give light to the world.
Keep us firm in the hope you have set before
us, so that we and all your children shall be
free, and the whole earth live to praise your
name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The National Anthem – Hymn 659 O Canada (v. 1)
Concluding Hymn (Ewing)
By all your saints still striving
For all your saints at rest,
Your holy name, O Jesus,
Forevermore be blest!
You rose, our King victorious,
That they might wear the crown
And ever shine in splendor
Reflected from your throne.
We praise you for St. Peter,
we praise you for St. Paul.
They taught both Jew and Gentile
that Christ is all in all.
To cross and sword they yielded
and saw the kingdom come:
O God, your two apostles
won life through martyrdom.
Then let us praise the Father
And worship God the Son
And sing to God the Spirit,
Eternal Three in One,
Till all the ransomed number
Who stand before the throne,
Ascribe all power and glory
And praise to God alone.

Day holiday weekend. It will resume in The Study on
Monday, July 15th
at 7:00 PM.
Deacon’s Cupboard Contributions
Many thanks to all those who have recently donated items!
There still is need for the following items in particular: peanut

sauce, hearty soups & stews and tinned fruit.
Book Club Relocates
The Book Club will be meeting in the Seminar Room on the
2nd
Floor, South Wing of the new Bridgepoint Healthcare
facility on Saturday June 6th
, at 4 PM. We will gather in the
entrance foyer before proceeding to join Kay Callaghan to
discuss Neil Turok’s The Universe Within. Won’t you join us?
Those needing assistance with transportation please speak with
Fr Jonathan.
At Communion, on an experimental basis, the gates at the rail
are being left open. This is to facilitate those receiving
communion standing. It also enables the Communion ministers
to enter and leave the Sanctuary as needed. If you require the
assistance of the Communion rail, please use those at the sides.
Thank you.
Inaugural Work Party Saturday July 6th
We have been encouraged by the positive response from the
several groups who use our facilities through the week
to help freshen them up.
Now is our chance to build bridges, connect with our wider
community and contribute to a result we can all be proud of.
Our first work party takes place Saturday July 6th
, from 9:30
AM on. Refreshments and victuals will be supplied. Please
RSVP the church office so we may be sure to have enough on
hand.
We plan to continue these gatherings through the month
of July, so we hope there will be openings in your calendar
for your members to join in.
Our first priority will be the repainting of the Gym, starting
with a coat of primer. So this will be a painting party; dress
accordingly.
Looking forward to working together to make the shared space
more inviting and enjoyable to use for all. Fr J

  • 2. Our 10:30 AM Sung Eucharist begins on page 185 of the green Book of Alternative Services. The hymns can be found in the blue Book of Common Praise. Organ: Premier livre d'orgue: 6. Récit - Pierre Du Mage (1674-1751) (Peter Dunphy, organist) The Gathering of the Community Greeting and Collect for Purity p. 185 The Kyrie (said) p. 186 Sung Metrical Gloria Hymn 366 Collect of the Day: Almighty God, your blessed apostles Peter and Paul glorified you in their death as in their life. Grant that your Church, inspired by their teaching and example, and made one by your Spirit, may ever stand firm upon the one foundation, Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. The Proclamation of the Word A READING FROM THE BOOK OF EZEKIEL Read by Rueben Russouw Thus says the Lord God: I myself will searchfor my sheep, and will seek them out. As shepherds seek out their flocks when they are among their scattered sheep, so I will seek out my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places to which they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land; and I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the watercourses, and in all the inhabited parts of the land. I will feed them with good pasture, and the mountain heights of Israel shall be their pasture; there they shall lie down in good grazing land, and they shall feed on rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will make them lie down, says the Lord God. I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, but the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them with justice. The word of the Lord: Thanks be to God. PSALM (said responsively) On the holy mountain stands the city he has founded; the Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of our God. I count Egypt and Babylon among those who know me; behold Philistia, Tyre, and Ethiopia: in Zion were they born. Of Zion it shall be said, “Everyone was born in her, and the Most High himself shall sustain her.” The Lord will record as he enrols the peoples, “These also were born there.” The singers and the dancers will say, “All my fresh springs are in you.” Glory be to the Father and to the Son: and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be: world without end Amen. A READING FROM THE SECOND LETTER OF PAUL TO TIMOTHY Read by Joyce Connell In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I solemnly urge you: proclaim the message; be persistent whether the time is favourable or unfavourable; convince, rebuke, and encourage, with the utmost patience in teaching. For the time is coming when people will not put up with sound doctrine, but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own desires, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander away to myths. As for you, always be sober, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, carry out your
  • 3. ministry fully. As for me, I am already being poured out as a libation, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing. The word of the Lord: Thanks be to God. Hymn before the Gospel (Darwell) Thou art the Christ, O Lord, the Son of God most high! For ever be adored that Name in earth and sky, in which, though mortal strength may fail, the saints of God at last prevail! O surely he was blest with blessedness unpriced, who, taught of God, confessed the Godhead in the Christ! For of thy Church, Lord, thou didst own thy saint a true foundation-stone. Thrice fallen, thrice restored! The bitter lesson learned, that heart for thee, O Lord, with triple ardor burned. The cross he took he laid not down until he grasped the martyr's crown. O bright triumphant faith, O courage void of fears! O love most strong in death, O penitential tears! By these, Lord, keep us lest we fall, and make us go where thou shalt call. The Gospel Gospeller: The Lord be with you. All: And also with you. Gospeller: The Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to John. All: Glory to you, Lord Jesus Christ. When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my lambs.” A second time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter felt hurt because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” And he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep. Very truly, I tell you, when you were younger, you used to fasten your own belt and to go wherever you wished. But when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will fasten a belt around you and take you where you do not wish to go.” (He said this to indicate the kind of death by which he would glorify God.) After this he said to him, “Follow me.” Gospeller: The Gospel of Christ: All: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Homily: Fr Jonathan Eayrs Affirmation of Faith (Please stand as able.) Sung Metrical Creed Hymn 44 Prayers of the People led by Sue Ann Elite (Please kneel, as able, for the Prayers of the People) The Exchange of the Peace (We greet and exchange the Peace of Christ with our neighbours.) • 4. All who are baptized into Christ with water in the Name of the Holy Trinity are welcome to receive Holy Communion. If you will not be receiving, you are invited to come to the Communion rail for a blessing. Please indicate this by crossing your arms. Offertory Hymn (Morning Light) (During this hymn the gifts of bread and wine are presented and a collection is taken up.) From all thy saints in warfare, for all thy saints at rest, to thee, O bless-ed Jesus, all praises be addressed; thou, Lord, didst win the battle, that they might conquerors be; their crowns of living glory are lit with rays from thee. Praise for thy great apostle, the eager and the bold; thrice falling, yet repentant, thrice charged to keep thy fold. Lord, make thy pastors faithful to guard their flocks from ill, and grant them dauntless courage, with humble, earnest will. Then praise we God the Father, and praise we God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, eternal Three in One; till all the ransomed number fall down before the throne, and honor, power, and glory, ascribe to God alone. Prayer over the Gifts: Almighty God, receive all we offer you on this feast of the apostles. Help us to know our own weakness and to rejoice in your saving power, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Eucharistic Prayer 3 p. 198 The Lord’s Prayer (sung) McNeil Robinson Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil, For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen. The Breaking of the Bread Presider: “I am the bread which has come down from heaven,” says the Lord. All: Give us this bread for ever. Presider: “I am the vine, you are the branches.” All: May we dwell in him, as he lives in us. Presider: The Gifts of God for the People of God. All: Thanks be to God. Doxology (All stand as able) Presider: All your works praise you, O Lord. All: And your faithful people bless you. Gracious God we thank you for feeding us with the body and blood of your Son Jesus Christ. May we, who share his body, live his risen life; we, who drink his cup, bring life to others; we, whom the Spirit lights, give light to the world. Keep us firm in the hope you have set before us, so that we and all your children shall be free, and the whole earth live to praise your name; through Christ our Lord. Amen. The Blessing Announcements The National Anthem – Hymn 659 O Canada (v. 1) Concluding Hymn (Ewing) By all your saints still striving
  • 5. For all your saints at rest, Your holy name, O Jesus, Forevermore be blest! You rose, our King victorious, That they might wear the crown And ever shine in splendor Reflected from your throne. We praise you for St. Peter, we praise you for St. Paul. They taught both Jew and Gentile that Christ is all in all. To cross and sword they yielded and saw the kingdom come: O God, your two apostles won life through martyrdom. Then let us praise the Father And worship God the Son And sing to God the Spirit, Eternal Three in One, Till all the ransomed number Who stand before the throne, Ascribe all power and glory And praise to God alone. Inaugural Work Party Saturday July 6th We have been encouraged by the positive response from the several groups who use our facilities through the week to help freshen them up. Now is our chance to build bridges, connect with our wider community and contribute to a result we can all be proud of. Our first work party takes place Saturday July 6th , from 9:30 AM on. Refreshments and victuals will be supplied. Please RSVP the church office so we may be sure to have enough on hand. We plan to continue these gatherings through the month of July, so we hope there will be openings in your calendar for your members to join in. Our first priority will be the repainting of the Gym, starting with a coat of primer. So this will be a painting party; dress accordingly. Looking forward to working together to make the shared space more inviting and enjoyable to use for all. Fr J V V V WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK?
