The role at Ft. Huachuca emphasizes Land WarNet (LWN) support for ESTA, NIST, DISA, NETCOM, DOIM/NEC and its subordinate organizations.  Almost every aspect of what is being done is considered at a bare minimum sensitive; therefore specifics of the function, role, and job itself may be obscured to protect National Security.  As a Senior Systems Engineer, support is provided as hierarchically responsible to provide non-personal services in support of the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command/9th Signal Command (Army) (NETCOM/9th SC (A)), Enterprise Systems Technology Activity (ESTA).  Additionally, the Microsoft Subject Matter Expert (SME) supports the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) theaters (Pacific (PAC), Europe (EUR), Southwest Asia (SWA), and Korea theaters of operation).  Duties are focused on Active Directory (AD) Windows 2003/2008 operating system and directory services and Exchange 2003/2007 (E2K3/E2K7) for the Army Enterprise (Unclassified but Sensitive Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) and Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET)) operating and generating forces.  Additional duties support the development and implementation of the Army Enterprise AD, Exchange, and delivery of services provided by Microsoft products which shall enhance current services and expand capabilities to meet mission requirements. My role was progressively more responsible, working from a Systems Analyst I in Reno, NV and being quickly promoted to the Senior Site lead (Operations Manager) for the Phoenix, AZ CoLo.  Described as Enterprise-level Operations, Management, and Monitoring of a Microsoft OEM Raised-floor Datacenter, our function was very diverse, and very hands-on.  Additionally our role was to provide Ad-hoc support to the “Danger, Inc” Project which was the ground floor Wireless, and Network Solution to Cloud Computing.  The Reno and Phoenix Datacenters are Geo-dispersed, however are used as Hot-site backup solutions for full production environments and provide failover for mission critical applications such as ORION, MOO, and ITLS.  Consistently performing above par was an expectation that we continually attained while providing vendor support, this was monitored weekly, monthly, and annually as we upheld the “Five nine’s” philosophy.<br />Project Management -<br />PHASE I – Infrastructure Deployment, Server, Network, Enclosure, CSU Blade Chassis, Power Redundancy, and Air-Flow Installations as well as Network Development including VLAN-‘Trunk’ing.<br />Physical Power Layout Design and Implementation.<br />Design and Deployment of Network Main Distribution Feed (MDF) and Intermediate Distribution Feed (IDF), cross-over deployment.<br />Third-Party Vendor Coordination (AT&T, XO Networks, BlackBox) work to acquire TA’s and SA’s, specific to Fiber POE, MDE, and CSU/DSU work.<br />PHASE II – Readiness Deployment of Servers in all roles, IDS/IPS Deployment, Out-of-Band Deployment, CISCO 2600 Deployment, Fiber Optic (LC-LC, LC-SC) Implementation, CAT6 Cabling, Data Migration Assistance, Major, and Minor troubleshooting of Hardware, Software, and Network during Roll-Up.<br />Phase III – Go Live, which was well ahead of planned schedules, which saved money, and time positively impacting revenue.<br />Lead several of the Virtualization Projects for Microsoft Lab testing before Windows Server 2008 was released to the public. Windows Virtual Server 2005 R2 – Process manual created which is in use on TechNet.<br />Developed, and administered a local SharePoint Site using WSS 2.0 and MOSS 2007 for document control.<br />Handled 30+ technical/mission-critical calls daily and consistently met high service standards governed by a stringent SLA. Sparks, NV/Reno, NV<br />Information Technology Specialist Aug 2006 to Jan 2008<br />American Ready-Mix is a Concrete, and Ready-mix provider in the Reno, Tahoe, Carson Valley areas who has been a locally-owned and operated business for more than 25 years.  The company offers thousands of different mix-types (Recipes), Air-mixtures, and color-based solutions to the entire Sierra Region of Northern Nevada, and Northeastern California. Operating out of 5 Cities in the area (Reno, Sparks, Spanish Springs, Carson City, and Fernley), they provide an invaluable service to Commercial Construction projects, as well as the private home-owner.  My position was responsible for the Technical needs of the entire company including Desk-side support, User-account management, and putting out the many fires that presented themselves 24 hours a day within all branches of the 5-City area. This Included all forms of Workstation, Server, and Proprietary Ready-Mix systems, Network Equipment, Website Development/Management. <br />Project Management –<br />PHASE 0 - Coordinated, Designed, Architected, and Developed real world strategy for Corporate Move from one city to another.<br />Lead Team for project plan, and vendor support coordination to emphasize smooth transition to new site.<br />Assigned roles to specific users with skills that could assist in the move.<br />The design included network infrastructure plan, hardware layout, individual office connectivity, Security system planning, and correct lighting requirements.<br />PHASE I– Prebuilt new site including Network Infrastructure, Duplicate Firewall Migration, Communications (New Phone System), Server Infrastructure Deployment, Power Redundancy, and Air-Flow Installations as well as Fiber (FDDI) cabling, and CSU/DSU deployment.<br />Physical Power Layout Design and Implementation.<br />Design and Deployment of Network Main Distribution Feed (MDF) and QoS.<br />Physically ran cable (Both CAT6 and Fiber) from main building to Command Center<br />Third-Party Vendor Coordination (AT&T, XO Networks, JFG Systems) work to acquire TA’s and SA’s, specific to Fiber POE, MDE, and CSU/DSU work.<br />Deployment of Microsoft Exchange 2007 w/ Unified Messaging, and user migration from Hosted POP3 eMail service saving the company $7,500.00 annually.<br />Solomon Color, SysTech, Command ALKON, and other Proprietary systems deployment.<br />PHASE II – Prepared the existing site for migration, including the pack-up and move of  non-critical systems, and devices.<br />Completely restructured the Active Directory Domain from existing americanready-mix.com to arm.local to address several concerns and configuration issues associated with using a .com on your LAN<br />Deployed Active Directory with Organizational Units and Group Policy to provide Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC)<br />Deployed IWATSU VoIP PBX system, and integrated Unified Messaging from Exchange 2007.<br />Deployed DVR recording system for 16 camera’s implementing an unprecedented level of implied security.<br />PHASE III – Final Cut-over and move from existing Headquarters to new Site, physical move of all servers, systems, printers and devices.<br />This final phase went extremely smoothly, and was able to be done within 48 hours.
