This document provides step-by-step instructions for installing the full GNOME desktop environment from the Mageia 1 installation DVD. It describes the partitioning and installation process, including resizing the existing Windows partition to make space, creating swap and file system partitions, selecting the GNOME desktop during installation, and configuring the user account and bootloader. Screenshots are included showing the default Mageia boot screen and GNOME login screen after a successful custom GNOME installation on Mageia 1.
10. Choosing this option creates dual boot system. You can boot either Mageia or Windows operating system. Hard disk drive (HDD) partitioning is automatic.
