2. Danny ‘Daniel’ Ocean is a former soldier
turned conman from the Ocean’s
movies. He is played by Hollywood
actor George Clooney. Danny Ocean has
a cool, friendly, and charismatic
personality. He is imaginative,
personable and highly organized, and a
very experienced gambler, con artist
and a thief. Danny is often on the
lookout for potential targets, even
unintentionally. He is experienced in
various confidence schemes, fraudulent
business scams and swindles. His best
friend and Ally Rusty Ryan, played by
Brad Pitt are the main protagonists in
the series who come up and execute the
heists with their team.
Danny is effectively both the leader and project manager of the Eleven,
knowing the skills of his teammates and who to rotate inside a job to
handle contingencies. He also knows who to recruit from the outside
for specific parts in a heist. His ability to rapidly acquire talent
throughout the series reveal how extremely well connected he is with
the most skilled characters in the professional criminal world. Despite
being a thief, Danny keep himself to the codes and unwritten
understandings of criminal professionals, giving him a universal
reputation of reliability, competency and nobility. He lives by three
rules: 1. Don't hurt anybody, 2. Don't steal from anyone who doesn't
deserve it, 3. Play the game like you have nothing to lose.
3. John McClane is the main character in the action movie
series, Die Hard, he is played by actor Bruce Willis. He is a
foul mouthed, wise cracking NewYork cop who has a never
say die attitude. He can cope well under pressure and is a
quick thinker. McClane is portrayed as a reluctant hero who
without anyone's assistance is forced to thwart villains
elaborate plans. McClane's marriage is in a constant state of
crisis, his vigilantism and disregard for safety has put in the
position of losing his job on more than one occasion and
says he is only one step away from becoming a fully blown
alcoholic.
The trailer for the first Die Hard film states, "The last thing
McClane wants is to be a hero, but he doesn't have a
choice." In the second film, he is told "You're the wrong
guy in the wrong place at the wrong time", to which he
replies, "The story of my life." In the fourth film, he says
he gets involved in dangerous situations "because there is
nobody else to do it."
4. Ellen Ripley is the main character in the Aliens
series of movies. Played by actress Sigourney
Weaver, she is often considered the best
female protagonist of all time and has been
heralded for challenging gender roles in many
movie genres.
She is the female bad ass action star the
world needed at the time. In the movie the
enemy is the Alien which wipes out all of her
fellow crew mates, she then steps up and wins
her own personal battle and survives. She
proves to be resourceful against the Alien. Her
ability to find a way to over come many
problems is arguably her best trait as she
wriggles her way out of trouble time and time
again.
In the first movie she is portrayed as
a weaker character who is
inexperienced and dare I say lucky
to escape but in the second she is a
fully blown bad ass who now has the
experience and wits to fool the
Aliens again and save the day,
again.
