The Simple Past is used to talk about actions or events in
the past.

Use this tense:
when you want to tell someone about any event in the past
to discuss any actions that happened in the past time.
These words tell you that a sentence is in the past tense: few seconds ago, 1 minute
ago, 2 minutes ago, 30 minutes ago, day ago, weeks ago, months ago, years ago.
For example:
I walked to school yesterday.
I watched a movie last night.
I went to hajj last month.
I ate McDonalds during the lunch time.
