Sacrifice: The Battle After The War
The Battle After The War Sacrifice; The act of giving up something valued for the sake of
something else regarded as more important or worthy. Sacrifice does only mean to risk your life
for something, if soldiers are lucky enough to make it out of a war or battle they also sacrifice
their time, energy, and normal lives. To sacrifice ones life for other people and even a whole
nation takes very much physical and mental strength. Often times soldiers and military personnel
are acknowledged and cared for during a war or battle, but what Americans often forget to care for
is the battle they must face IF they return back to their normal lives. Americans do not do enough to
recognize the lives of soldiers and all of the sacrifices made by them for...show more content...
"People donate more than $2.5 billion annually to the over 40,000 American charities with military
related missions"(https://www.charitynavigator.org, charity navigator). Some Americans donate
money and food towards vets many times a year. Although some Americans take time out of their
days to help our soldiers, many other people don't believe in donations and helping our military.
Also most charities only donate partial proceeds to the military so all of the donations being made
are also being used for businesses to make money. Donating money is only one way to honor vets,
even just being thankful for them and respecting military personal currently enrolled in the military
will also honor the sacrifices made by them.
The people of America may do some things to try to help veterans or soldiers but is it enough?
Soldiers and vets who sacrifice many things and sometimes even their lives, don't get the honor and
help they deserve. Thousands are left homeless, even more are unemployed, and some even commit

Sacrifice: A Thematic Analysis Of Themes
The theme that best fits the story is , sacrifice can mean the world. In the story 2BRO2B , the text
states , " 'Thank you sir ,' said the hostess. Your city thanks you; your country thanks you; your
planet thanks you. But the deepest thanks of all is from future generations.' " this evidence shows
that once a person kills themselves , the whole of planet earth would thank them and remember
them for their good deeds , and not only that, it would let more lives live on earth. The text also
states, "If you don't want my lovin', why should I take up all this space? I'll get of this old planet,
let some sweet baby have my place." This text proves that the author uses this theme because in the

The Value of Sacrifice
The value of sacrifice is not only just a committed dedication of interpretation to significance in
intentions. Sacrifice is what you present with the grant of administration from your eternally genuine
pneuma. Breathe the atmosphere of the unvarnished reality, have faithful accuracy within the

What Does Sacrifice Mean To You Essay
Merriam Webster's dictionary defines sacrifice as to give something up or something that is lost.
In my mind, an example of sacrifice is when a police officer puts his life on the line to help
someone in danger, or a firefighter running into a burning building to save a little girl or a doctor
going into rural towns to help people who are too poor to pay for health care. I am a fulltime
student. I am a fulltime daughter and sister. I am a part–time employee at a grocery store. I help
relieve financial burdens on my family and help support them financially. I work as much as
possible in order to earn as much money as I can. When I do not work I give up my free time to

I do not sacrifice, I simply give at my own will. I am someone who would give everything I have
to help one person's life. Instead of buying that new pair of shoes that I have been wanting, I would
rather give my time and money to someone who needs it more than I do. I want to be someone who is
known to give to others when others need it the most.
I'd love to make more time to spend with young kids, showing them the beauty of art or find the
resources to obtain supplies. I know this would entail a lot of my time and effort ,but I think
offering art to young kids is very important. Any time that i have to spare i would like to give it up
to helping others.creating art can be a beautiful way to express yourself. I think that even the
sacrifice of my time, the little that I have, would be well worth it in the end.
I am no Firefighter or Police Officer or a Doctor. I do not go out and risk my life or go across the
world to save someone. I do not lose anything worth keeping. I give up my time and use it for
something that will be more important to those that I care about and love. I do not sacrifice
anything in my life, I simply give to those in need. I care for those who have nothing. I do not
sacrifice anything, I just

Sacrifice as an Expression of Religion Essay
The greatest expression of one's religion and worship is found in sacrifice. Sacrifice is defined as
"man's intimate relationship with Almighty God (Catholic Biblical Encyclopedia, 786)." Sacrifice in
the Old Testament was the most important act a man could perform to show his love for God.
Sacrifice consists of this, that man must take an important part of his life, such as an animals, or
food, and offer it as a gift to God and at the same time make it a victim in place of himself to
acknowledge God's absolute majesty (Catholic Biblical Encyclopedia 786). Man gives a fraction
of his personal goods to God in a sacrifice. This surrender of his property occurs when the gift is
removed from its future usefulness to him. In a word,...show more content...
The "imposition of hands (Catholic Biblical Encyclopedia, 787)" followed. During the imposition
of hands the offerer had to lay his hands on the animal's head to transfer his own sins to the
animal. Then the victim was killed on the north side of the altar. Following the killing, the priest
took the blood of the animal and sprinkled it on either side of the altar. Thus God permitted
Himself to be satisfied with the sacrificial animal's life and blood (Catholic Biblical Encyclopedia,
787). The last act was the "burning of the flesh (Catholic Biblical Encyclopedia, 787)" of the
animal after it had been skinned and cut to pieces. Another type of offering were the burnt
offerings. In the burnt offerings the entire victim was burned and not just the skin. Also, in
contrast to the bloody sacrifice ceremony, the blood was poured all the way around the altar
instead of just in certain spots. This sacrifice was to be uninterrupted. Two times a day, in the
morning and evening, a lamb had to offered. The fire on this altar was never to be put out. With
every burnt offering there was an unbloody addition, for instance a meal and drink offering.
(Catholic Biblical Encyclopedia, 788) There was also the sin offerings (Catholic Biblical
Encyclopedia, 778). Sin offerings had to be offered by individual people to remove certain legal
uncleanness, or to compensate for personal sins committed unintentionally and indeliberately. The

Definition Of Sacrifice
Before making a sacrifice, people can consider which kind of sacrifice they would be making, the
value in making the sacrifice, and when making this sacrifice would be appropriate. The definition
of sacrifice, according to Google, is an act of giving up something valued for the sake of something
else regarded as more important or worthy. Ever since the beginning of time, people have made
sacrifices, big and small. Every sacrifice anybody has ever made is because they thought that giving
up something they value would help something that they or somebody else valued even more.
Some sacrifices are as small as letting your younger sibling eat the last slice of pizza. However,
others are much larger, like giving $5000 to cancer research. The kind of sacrifice that you make
is up to you. Do you want to give up your comfort, time, money, or help to something or someone
that will increase one's levels of happiness? Sacrifices can be made for yourself, others, and other

Aztec Human Sacrifice Essay
The Aztecs were indigenous people who lived in the valley of Mexico in the 15th and early 16th
centuries (Mini–Q, pg 1). They had over 20 million people in their population. The Aztec people
lived near a water source, so they were excellent fisherman, agriculturalists, and engineers. The
Aztecs also practiced human sacrificing, something that is uncommon in our current society.
Historians and teachers should emphasize on human sacrifice over agriculture because although it
was gruesome, human sacrifice was what controlled the lifestyle of the Aztecs.
Human sacrifice was practiced by the Aztecs to ask for favors from the Gods. They would offer
prisoners, crops, animals, and most importantly, their ruler's blood, to request for more rain, cure
for diseases, and more crops from the Gods. For example, the sun god named Huitzilopochtli was
worshiped to bring longer days and warmth to their colonization. This was important because it
would allow the Aztecs to be able to fish, farm, and build for longer periods of the day, and it would
help their crops grow. They believed that without human sacrificing rituals, Huitzilopochtli would
grant the Aztecs unfavorable conditions and their city would collapse(Aztec Mini–Q Background
Essay, pg 8). Human sacrificing is important because it controls every aspect of the...show more

The Aztecs collected the blood from their enemies and their animals and would sacrifice it to the
Gods. This was important to them because they needed to signify their importance and commitment
to their God (Friar Diego Duran, The History of the Indies of New Spain 1581). Sacrificing their
enemies rather than their own men was wise because their population numbers would stay up, and
they would be ready to fight in the next battle. This shows how the sacrifices were connected to all
parts of the Aztec's society and has a bigger impact than agriculture does for their

Sacrifice And Success
Sacrifice Or Success?
Something that everyone wants to achieve is success. Success is not something that comes easy
in life, one must be prepared to give sacrifices such as time, in order for them to reach a professional
level of success. In order to succeed, people must learn to make sacrifices in life. Sacrifice is
necessary for people to succeed because if people are not willing to sacrifice anything such as time
or effort, they will not succeed. They need to sacrifice dedication, effort, and time. These three
fundamental principles if used correctly, are the best tools in the race for success. If the rules of using
maximum effort, dedication, and time are followed to its highest potential, individuals seeking

The common, or "magic", number is 10,000 hours of practice in order for one to become master or
professional at what they are trying to accomplish. Most professional athletes such as hockey
players have been playing the sport for just about as long as they could walk. For example, most
of the skaters on the 18u Syracuse Stars AAA hockey team started playing the game at ages 3,4,
or 5. Every player on that team is fundamentally sound when it comes to the game. They have
been around it for so long that hockey became a way of life, these are the players, that dedicate
the most time in order to succeed. They give the small amount of practice time that they have
everyday, 100% every time they touch the ice. The hockey players across the world that dedicate
the most time to their sport, will be the ones who end up having the best chance at becoming a
professional. The same goes for any profession in which one would like to excel in. The hockey
coach for the Syracuse Stars 18u AAA team always says "You get out of it, what you put in it
boys"(Coach Dan Jones). This holds true because if you put in the time to succeed it will show. A
better example would be if there is a player on the team that makes each practice but plays sloppy
and does not attend optional practices and makes no effort to put in extra time,

Lastly the death of Laiah, this last point distinctively portrays to the reader the actually definition
of killing. Which is to take the life of an individual. That is exactly what Abraham does, he literally
butchers the girl. This is done in a way unlike the rest because the Author wants to show the reader
that to all the many ways to kill an individual you cannot leave out the main factor of the actually
deed of death, which was granted upon Laiah.
The main aspects of killing changing belief in something, racism, and murder are the most
important factors. Although throughout the novel there are main more different ways, but those
three are very important because in one way or another they all link up to form the conclusion that
the family had a lot to deal with. The kind of life they lived would have made a lot of people end
up like them and either kill something/someone, or be killed in any means necessarily.

Jesus Christ Made A Voluntary Sacrifice Essay
Atonement is an ecclesiastical theory which explains human being's reconnection with God. This
allows the sinful nature of man to be forgiven, and reconciled with grace of God. Forgiveness of sin
through the sacrifice given through the death of Jesus and later his resurrection, is the understanding
of atonement. Jesus Christ made a voluntary sacrifice to later allow the possibility of reconciliation
between man and God. "God so loved the world, and gave his only begotten son" (Bible – King
James version – John 3:16). The particular scripture highlights the origin of atonement with the
blessed provisions of God's love. Gods powerful love that Paul felt for God speaks of this steadfast
love. "Spared not his own son, but delivered him up for us all" (Bible – King James version –
Romans 8:32). This amazing sacrifice of God's son wasn't the way to save us, but God wanted to
show his sacrificial love to us, with these of his son. His son's sacrifice was necessary to magnified
his glory and heightened the exact character of the salvation given. The act of being saved through
salvation does require only the forgiveness of sin but also understanding. God represents everything
opposite to the acts of sin, and wanted to demonstrate the sacrifice of Christ on the cross is the
ultimate example of the love of God.
Atonement requires that it contains obedience, sacrifice, propitiation, reconciliation and redemption.
There are various theories to the understanding of atonement; example of

Human Sacrifice And The Gods Essay
Blood dripped down off the sacrificial table as the priest cuts out the man's heart to offer it to the
gods." The occurrence of human sacrifice can usually be related to the recognition of human
blood as the sacred life force"("Human Sacrificing"). The thought of human sacrificing may seem
inhuman or uncivilized; however, in the ancient times, it was considered a prayer for better
times. Human sacrificing was not only a ritual act to earn a god 's favor, but also for a greater
cause. Usually people would benefit luck, fertility for the land, and to win a war. Although, there's
evidence of animals being sacrificed to please the gods."The killing of a human being, or the
substitution of an animal for a person, has often been part of an attempt to commune with a god
and to participate in divine life"("Human Sacrificing"). By looking at ancient text or hieroglyphics,
it has been shown that human sacrificing was intended to help in warfare, avert disaster, a good
year of harvest, or even fertility. The idea of human sacrifice has shown up in many different cultures
and practiced on a number of different occasions. There exists evidence to prove that Mayan, Aztec,
and Greek made use of sacrifice to please the gods. Nonetheless, there are many similarities between
the three cultures when it comes to human sacrificing. In the three cultures, human sacrificing was
very common practice. The three cultures would usually sacrifice humans to please and to please the

There are some groups that none of us has any choice in whether we belong to them or not.
Factors such as gender, ethnicity, family and even social status are at birth, groups that we belong
to, yet cannot choose, and many of these endure throughout life. Although family, religious beliefs
and even social status can be altered in later life, all of these groups are ones that are integral to an
individual's identity and in fact add it in life. However, as a child their influence is perhaps even
more important as in these formative years one's gender, culture, family and even religion actively
create individual identity.
As we grow as develop as individuals we begin to make choices about where we want to find
belonging. This can be seen in choices as minor as belonging to a football club or friendship group,
to more life–altering choices such as being a member of a political party or protest group such as
Green peace. As individuals make such choices they do not sacrifice their identities, but rather work
to increase and from their ever–changing sense of self. Such choices can also be made after
life–altering circumstances, such as when people feel a need to join victim's group or support
groups when they or a loved one contract a chronic or terminal illness.
Statement of Intention: This essay is written in formal form with the topics of identity and
belonging. With this piece of writing, the audience that I'm targeting is teenager until

Sacrifice
During a time that inner struggle does not outweigh the prospering will for success, sacrifice breaks

some sort of sacrifice despite the outcome. Person against person sacrifice, conflict, is

that freedom is different for everyone. Sacrifice is sunlight, which can illuminate or scorch based

Sacrifice does not always have to be about war, but that does not mean it never is. The battles that

Examples Of Sacrifice In The Alchemist
Our society has become a place where sacrifices are required to achieve specific goals. Sacrifice is
an act of killing or giving up something in order to accomplish something that is more worthy, and

his Personal Legend, he sacrifices factors that provide him comfort, a sense of security and pleasure
such as his sheep, money, and love. By making such sacrifices, Santiago learns to overcome difficult

his love in a small oasis in the Sahara. He says "I want to stay at the oasis... I've found Fatima, and,
as far as I'm concerned, she's worth more than treasure" (118). Despite Santiago's unconditional love
and its ability to change his mindset, Coelho implies that love acts as a distraction that interferes

For instance, the alchemist suggests Santiago that he "must understand that love never keeps a man
from pursuing his destiny. If he abandons that pursuit, it's because it wasn't true love" (120).
Moreover, Santiago learns to accept the idea that the omens will help him reunite with Fatima after
he finds the treasure if she is "a part of his dream" (97). Accordingly, Santiago sacrifices his time his

Sacrifice Essay

  • 1. Sacrifice: The Battle After The War The Battle After The War Sacrifice; The act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else regarded as more important or worthy. Sacrifice does only mean to risk your life for something, if soldiers are lucky enough to make it out of a war or battle they also sacrifice their time, energy, and normal lives. To sacrifice ones life for other people and even a whole nation takes very much physical and mental strength. Often times soldiers and military personnel are acknowledged and cared for during a war or battle, but what Americans often forget to care for is the battle they must face IF they return back to their normal lives. Although some Americans take time out of their days to help our soldiers, many other people don't believe in donations and helping our military. Also most charities only donate partial proceeds to the military so all of the donations being made are also being used for businesses to make money. Donating money is only one way to honor vets, even just being thankful for them and respecting military personal currently enrolled in the military will also honor the sacrifices made by them. The people of America may do some things to try to help veterans or soldiers but is it enough? Soldiers and vets who sacrifice many things and sometimes even their lives, don't get the honor and help they deserve. • 4. What Does Sacrifice Mean To You Essay Merriam Webster's dictionary defines sacrifice as to give something up or something that is lost. In my mind, an example of sacrifice is when a police officer puts his life on the line to help someone in danger, or a firefighter running into a burning building to save a little girl or a doctor going into rural towns to help people who are too poor to pay for health care. I am a fulltime student. I am a fulltime daughter and sister. I am a part–time employee at a grocery store. I help relieve financial burdens on my family and help support them financially. Instead of buying that new pair of shoes that I have been wanting, I would rather give my time and money to someone who needs it more than I do. I want to be someone who is known to give to others when others need it the most. I'd love to make more time to spend with young kids, showing them the beauty of art or find the resources to obtain supplies. I know this would entail a lot of my time and effort ,but I think offering art to young kids is very important. Any time that i have to spare i would like to give it up to helping others.creating art can be a beautiful way to express yourself. I think that even the sacrifice of my time, the little that I have, would be well worth it in the end. I am no Firefighter or Police Officer or a Doctor. I do not go out and risk my life or go across the world to save someone. I do not lose anything worth keeping. I give up my time and use it for something that will be more important to those that I care about and love. I do not sacrifice anything in my life, I simply give to those in need. • 5. Sacrifice as an Expression of Religion Essay The greatest expression of one's religion and worship is found in sacrifice. Sacrifice is defined as "man's intimate relationship with Almighty God (Catholic Biblical Encyclopedia, 786)." Sacrifice in the Old Testament was the most important act a man could perform to show his love for God. Sacrifice consists of this, that man must take an important part of his life, such as an animals, or food, and offer it as a gift to God and at the same time make it a victim in place of himself to acknowledge God's absolute majesty (Catholic Biblical Encyclopedia 786). Man gives a fraction of his personal goods to God in a sacrifice. This surrender of his property occurs when the gift is removed from its future usefulness to him. In a word,...show more content... The "imposition of hands (Catholic Biblical Encyclopedia, 787)" followed. During the imposition of hands the offerer had to lay his hands on the animal's head to transfer his own sins to the animal. Then the victim was killed on the north side of the altar. Following the killing, the priest took the blood of the animal and sprinkled it on either side of the altar. Thus God permitted Himself to be satisfied with the sacrificial animal's life and blood (Catholic Biblical Encyclopedia, 787). The last act was the "burning of the flesh (Catholic Biblical Encyclopedia, 787)" of the animal after it had been skinned and cut to pieces. Another type of offering were the burnt offerings. In the burnt offerings the entire victim was burned and not just the skin. Also, in contrast to the bloody sacrifice ceremony, the blood was poured all the way around the altar instead of just in certain spots. This sacrifice was to be uninterrupted. Two times a day, in the morning and evening, a lamb had to offered. The fire on this altar was never to be put out. With every burnt offering there was an unbloody addition, for instance a meal and drink offering. (Catholic Biblical Encyclopedia, 788) There was also the sin offerings (Catholic Biblical Encyclopedia, 778). Sin offerings had to be offered by individual people to remove certain legal uncleanness, or to compensate for personal sins committed unintentionally and indeliberately. • 7. Aztec Human Sacrifice Essay The Aztecs were indigenous people who lived in the valley of Mexico in the 15th and early 16th centuries (Mini–Q, pg 1). They had over 20 million people in their population. The Aztec people lived near a water source, so they were excellent fisherman, agriculturalists, and engineers. The Aztecs also practiced human sacrificing, something that is uncommon in our current society. Historians and teachers should emphasize on human sacrifice over agriculture because although it was gruesome, human sacrifice was what controlled the lifestyle of the Aztecs. Human sacrifice was practiced by the Aztecs to ask for favors from the Gods. They would offer prisoners, crops, animals, and most importantly, their ruler's blood, to request for more rain, cure for diseases, and more crops from the Gods. For example, the sun god named Huitzilopochtli was worshiped to bring longer days and warmth to their colonization. This was important because it would allow the Aztecs to be able to fish, farm, and build for longer periods of the day, and it would help their crops grow. They believed that without human sacrificing rituals, Huitzilopochtli would grant the Aztecs unfavorable conditions and their city would collapse(Aztec Mini–Q Background Essay, pg 8). The common, or "magic", number is 10,000 hours of practice in order for one to become master or professional at what they are trying to accomplish. For example, most of the skaters on the 18u Syracuse Stars AAA hockey team started playing the game at ages 3,4, or 5. Every player on that team is fundamentally sound when it comes to the game. They have been around it for so long that hockey became a way of life, these are the players, that dedicate the most time in order to succeed. They give the small amount of practice time that they have everyday, 100% every time they touch the ice. The hockey players across the world that dedicate the most time to their sport, will be the ones who end up having the best chance at becoming a professional. The same goes for any profession in which one would like to excel in. The hockey coach for the Syracuse Stars 18u AAA team always says "You get out of it, what you put in it boys"(Coach Dan Jones). • 13. Jesus Christ Made A Voluntary Sacrifice Essay Atonement is an ecclesiastical theory which explains human being's reconnection with God. This allows the sinful nature of man to be forgiven, and reconciled with grace of God. Forgiveness of sin through the sacrifice given through the death of Jesus and later his resurrection, is the understanding of atonement. Jesus Christ made a voluntary sacrifice to later allow the possibility of reconciliation between man and God. "God so loved the world, and gave his only begotten son" (Bible – King James version – John 3:16). The particular scripture highlights the origin of atonement with the blessed provisions of God's love. Gods powerful love that Paul felt for God speaks of this steadfast love. "Spared not his own son, but delivered him up for us all" (Bible – King James version – Romans 8:32). This amazing sacrifice of God's son wasn't the way to save us, but God wanted to show his sacrificial love to us, with these of his son. His son's sacrifice was necessary to magnified his glory and heightened the exact character of the salvation given. The act of being saved through salvation does require only the forgiveness of sin but also understanding. God represents everything opposite to the acts of sin, and wanted to demonstrate the sacrifice of Christ on the cross is the ultimate example of the love of God. Atonement requires that it contains obedience, sacrifice, propitiation, reconciliation and redemption. The occurrence of human sacrifice can usually be related to the recognition of human blood as the sacred life force"("Human Sacrificing"). The thought of human sacrificing may seem inhuman or uncivilized; however, in the ancient times, it was considered a prayer for better times. Human sacrificing was not only a ritual act to earn a god 's favor, but also for a greater cause. Usually people would benefit luck, fertility for the land, and to win a war. Although, there's evidence of animals being sacrificed to please the gods."The killing of a human being, or the substitution of an animal for a person, has often been part of an attempt to commune with a god and to participate in divine life"("Human Sacrificing"). By looking at ancient text or hieroglyphics, it has been shown that human sacrificing was intended to help in warfare, avert disaster, a good year of harvest, or even fertility. The idea of human sacrifice has shown up in many different cultures and practiced on a number of different occasions. There exists evidence to prove that Mayan, Aztec, and Greek made use of sacrifice to please the gods. Nonetheless, there are many similarities between the three cultures when it comes to human sacrificing. In the three cultures, human sacrificing was very common practice. The three cultures would usually sacrifice humans to please and to please the gods. One of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Even though it's different, each people have some similarity with others that connected them together as a community or a group. There are some groups that none of us has any choice in whether we belong to them or not. Factors such as gender, ethnicity, family and even social status are at birth, groups that we belong to, yet cannot choose, and many of these endure throughout life. Although family, religious beliefs and even social status can be altered in later life, all of these groups are ones that are integral to an individual's identity and in fact add it in life. However, as a child their influence is perhaps even more important as in these formative years one's gender, culture, family and even religion actively create individual identity. As we grow as develop as individuals we begin to make choices about where we want to find belonging. This can be seen in choices as minor as belonging to a football club or friendship group, to more life–altering choices such as being a member of a political party or protest group such as Green peace. As individuals make such choices they do not sacrifice their identities, but rather work to increase and from their ever–changing sense of self. Such choices can also be made after life–altering circumstances, such as when people feel a need to join victim's group or support groups when they or a loved one contract a chronic or terminal illness. Statement of Intention: This essay is written in formal form with the topics of identity and belonging. Along the way to the Pyramid, Santiago meets Fatima and instantly falls in love with her. He spends days with her and confesses his love by saying " I want you to be my wife" (95). Entranced by Fatima's beauty, Santiago conveys his willingness to adjust his plan and settle with his love in a small oasis in the Sahara. He says "I want to stay at the oasis... I've found Fatima, and, as far as I'm concerned, she's worth more than treasure" (118). For instance, the alchemist suggests Santiago that he "must understand that love never keeps a man from pursuing his destiny. If he abandons that pursuit, it's because it wasn't true love" (120). Moreover, Santiago learns to accept the idea that the omens will help him reunite with Fatima after he finds the treasure if she is "a part of his dream" (97). Accordingly, Santiago sacrifices his time his love in order to stay on the path for his Personal Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Eponine Sacrifice Essay Kill em with Kindness "If you don't sacrifice for what you want, what you want becomes a sacrifice." (Unkown) Sacrifice was not a strange action to these characters. The entire novel was based on the sacrifices each individual made throughout for their own future as well as that of the country. While Eponine made one of the most selfless moves of the movie, it can easily overshadow those of other characters, which were many. Looking further than Eponine's actions, some of the most sacrificial and resilient moments came from Jean Valjean, Fantine, Javert, and Marius. From the moment he meets her, Jean Valjean is ready to sacrifice everything for Cosette; whom he cares after as if she were his own daughter. From the moment he escapes prison to find her to the moment he risks his life at the barricade to save the love of her life he lives selflessly. "He went to the barricade to save me. • 20. Research Paper On Sacrifice Sacrifice is when you give up something for someone that you love for their happiness. My personal experience with sacrifice is when i used to play travel softball, and my parent had sacrificed a lot of their time and money for me to be able to do what i like to do. Whether it was making sure I had my uniform paid for, or waking up really early in the morning they still sacrificed their time and money for me. I had a softball tournament almost every weekend, and my parents would wake up early every morning just to make sure I got to my games on time. All these tournaments were at least an hour away, and even sometimes they were out of this state. But my parents would sacrifice their time just to take me.
