2. PROJECTS
M.Tech Project 2015-16
Project Area : Design, Manufacturing and Analysis
Project Title : Design and fabrication of cannula.
Cannula is a tube used during open heart surgery and its cost is very high. It is not manufacture in INDIA.
In order to manufacture it, reverse engineering was used. Initially material selection was there where PVC
or silicone material used. Drawings were made in CATIA software. CFD analysis of cannula done in
ANSYS FLUENT. Finally, cannulae was manufactured by compression moulding process.
B.E. Project 2012-13
Project Area : Design and manufacturing
Project Title : Design of X-Y positioner for automated portable book reader.
A device that can be used to read out an entire book to the user in a way that there is no intervention
required. The X-positioner moves along the lines of text on the page of the book and captures the images
along X direction. Then device moves along Y direction with the help of Y-positioner. An image capturing
device has mounted on X-Y positioner which can capture images of pages of the book and with the help of
image processing technique, it converts text captured into audio output.
