FUNCTION WAVEFORM GENERATOR
USING LABVIEW
PREPARED BY

(ETRX -B -48)
2. In LabVIEW 8, the signal
processing palette contains twenty-
one wave and pattern including Basic
Function Generator
(sine, triangle, sawtooth, square, and
arbitrary
wave), Sine, Impulse, Ramp, Sinc, Pulse
and Chirp Patterns, Gaussian, Uniform
White Noise, and Period Random
Noise. The complete list is shown
below.
It is important to note that
these VIs only output the amplitude of
the signal as a one-dimensional array
and do not include timing information.
These VIs are best used when the
timing information is not need such as
if the signal generated was to be
generated in hardware.
FUNCTION WAVEFORM GENERATOR
3. Basic Function Generator
1. offset is the DC offset of the signal. The
default is 0.0.
2. reset signal, if TRUE, resets the phase to
the phase control value and the time
stamp to zero. The default is FALSE.
3. signal type is the type of waveform to
generate.
1. Sine wave
2. Triangle wave
3. Square wave
4. Sawtooth wave
4. frequency is the frequency of the
waveform in units of hertz. The default is
10.
5. amplitude is the amplitude of the
waveform. The amplitude is also the
peak voltage. The default is 1.0.
6. phase is the initial phase, in degrees, of
the waveform. The default is 0. The VI
ignores phase if reset signal is FALSE.
