  3.  Introduction Gaming consoles were designed for the sole purpose of playing electronic games and nothing else.  Have been around since 1970’s.  Gaming consoles have proved themselves to be the best in digital entertainment.  Video game consoles are now extremely versatile and games can be created for a number of purposes.
  4. PLAYSTATION 3  The PlayStation 3 officially abbreviated as PS3.is the third home video game console produced by Sony Computer Entertainment .  PlayStation Home allows users to enter a “Virtual world”.  The PlayStation 3 uses the Sony designed Cell microprocessor as its CPU.  The system has Bluetooth, Ethernet, USB 2.0 and HDMI .
  5. PS Move and PS Eye The PS Move is a wand-like controller, equipped with a glowing soft rubber orb for visual tracking and several internal motion sensors for further motion sensing. This orb is tracked by the PlayStation Eye camera and through software its position in 3D space can be accurately calculated.
  6. FEATURES OF PS3  Dual Shock Remote Controller.  DVD’s can be played.  It provides Bluetooth and Wi-Fi facility.  It uses Blu-ray Disc as its primary storage medium.  Third Dimension Gaming.  Online Multiplayer Gaming.
  7. XBOX 360  Xbox was the first video game console to feature a built-in hard disk drive.  Xbox 360 is the second video game console developed by and produced for Microsoft.  “Xbox Live” service that allows players to compete online, and much more.  Its main memory pool is 512 MB in size.

  10. Cont.….  Nintendo includes the easy-to-play Wii Sports with every new Wii console shipped.  It also has a low resolution IR camera, which is used to give the controller relative pointing abilities by tracking a “sensor bar”

  17. CONCLUSION  We hope you are convinced that upgrading a PC for gaming can be significantly cheaper than buying a console system. But we want to remind you that the experience you get out of playing on a console will be significantly different than playing on a pc.
