In collaboration with Dr. Brian Kissell at UNCC, I created this slideshow that presents some elements of the daybook. Great way to introduce it to classes.
A table of contents is not required, but many students find this helpful in keeping up with the contents. I simply label and date my entries and that allows me to find things I’ve written in my daybook. The rule of thumb is that, however you organize it, you should be able to find an entry in less than a minute!
We use glue sticks to keep loose items in the daybook. Most handouts from class will be daybook size and ready to glue in, but if it’s not you can fold it and glue the blank spaces or sides you don’t want to read to your daybook page, fold over, and it says!
Often times when I’m stuck writing, I find it nice to draw or map my thinking and then I can move forward with my ideas.
