each other in the midline by a depression
 A transverse groove divides these
elevations into superior(ant) and
inferior(post) portions/colliculi

4. Sup.colliculi
 Serve as correlations and centres for visual
reflexes

5. Inferior colliculi
 Serve as relay stations for auditory reflexes

6. Crus cerebri
 Formed by expansion of marginal layer
around the basal plates
 Serve as pathways for fibres passing from
cerebal cortex to pons and spinal cord
