2. THE PROMISED MEHDI
Hazrat Ibn Abbas RZ is quoted as saying:
The Allah’s Apostle PBUH said “How my folks (ummah) be perished,
When I am at its beginning, Jesus the son of Mary, is at its end, and the Mehdi from my progeny is in the
(Masnud of Imam Ahmed and Kanz-ul-Ummal)
middle”.

3. TARK-E-DUNIYA (NON DEVOTION TO THE WORLD)
Hazrat Jabir ibn Abdullah RZ reported that Allah's Apostle PBUH
happened to walk through the bazar coming from the side of 'Aliya and the people were on his both sides. There he found a dead lamb
with very short ears. He took hold of his ear and said: Who amongst you would like to have this for a dirham? They said: We do not like
to have it even for less than that as it is of no use to us. He said: Do you wish to have it (free of any cost)? They said: By Allah, even if it
were alive (we would not have liked to possess that), for there is defect in it as its ear is very short; now it is dead also. Thereupon Allah's
Messenger PBUH said: By Allah, this world is more insignificant in the eye of Allah as it (this dead lamb) is in your eyes.

The purpose of the advent of the
Hazrat Mehdi-e-Ma’ud AHS, is to
make the people attain the proximity
to Allah SWT, and spiritual
excellences.
Hence Allah SWT has given us the
knowledge of the obligation of this
giving up (the world), and to prove it,
there are quranic verses too.
The giving up of the world and
trusting in Allah SWT have their own
peculiarities. It is very necessary to
understand them.
The main aim of the Mahdavi
teaching, is to limit the natural and
intentional desires in the way of
Allah SWT (fi sabililahi), as Allah
SWT said :

you and you will compete with one another (resulting) in the world (materialistic things) destroying you as it
destroyed them. (Mishkaat pg 440. Qadeemi)

TALAB-E-DEEDAR-E-KHUDA
(DESIRE FOR ALLAH’S VISION)
The desire to see Allah SWT is naturally
kindled in one who reposes faith in his
existence and Unity. Allah SWT says “…
Whoever expects to meet his Lord, let
him work righteousness, and in the
worship of his Lord, admit no one as
partner. (S18:A110). Whoever hopes to
meet Allah SWT should work according to
His dictates and he should not conclude
others in his worship of Allah SWT and His
attributes.
It may be pointed out here that Allah ‘s
vision in this world is possible, according
to the belief of Ahl-e-sunnat. The
explanation for this is that when Prophet
Moses AHS heard the word of Allah SWT
and enjoyed it, he developed a desire to
see him. He, therefore, prayed to Allah
SWT saying “Lord show thyself to me that
I may look at Thee (S7:A143).
6. TALAB-E-DEEDAR-E-KHUDA (DESIRE FOR ALLAH’S VISION)
Narrated by Hazrat Abu Moosa RZ, The Prophet Mohammed PBUH said “Whoever loves the meeting with Allah
SWT, Allah SWT too, loves the meeting him; and whoever hates the meeting with Allah SWT, Allah SWT too, hates the
meeting with him. (Sahih Bukhari)

TALAB-E-DEEDAR-E-KHUDA
(DESIRE FOR ALLAH’S VISION)
No doubt, if the vision of Allah SWT
were impossible, Prophet Moses
AHS, would never have made the
request. Since he made or, the
vision of Allah SWT is proved to be
possible and permitted in this world.
Secondly, Allah SWT reply to
Prophet Moses AHS also shows that
the vision of Allah is possible and
permitted. For Allah SWT has
associated, his being viewed with the
stability of the mountain. In other
words, He made His being viewed
contingent on the mountain
remaining stationary. “Thou will not
see me, buy gaze upon the
mountain, if it stands still in its place,
then you will see me (S7: A143).
(Al Qul Al Mahmood)
7. ZIKR –E- DAWAM (CONTINUOUS REMEMBERENCE ) Narrated by Hazrat Anas ibn Malik RZ, The
Prophet Mohammed PBUH said “That I sit in the company of the people who remember Allah SWT the exalted
from morning prayer till the sun rises is clearer to me than that I emancipate four slaves form the children of
Isra’il, and that I sit with the people who remember Allah SWT from afternoon Prayer till the sun sets is dearer to
me than that I emancipate four slaves (Sunan Abu Dawood, Book 35: Knowledge Kitab Al ilm, Number 3659).

Allah SWT says “When ye have

Imam Razi quoted Hazrat Ibn Abbas
RZ as saying: “Remember Allah SWT
day and night, on land and sea, in
station or in Journey, in health and
sickness in public or in private. In his
tafseer of the Quranic Verse :
“Remembrance of Allah is Highest.”
(S24: A45); he says that two points
are to be noted here: First, that Allah
SWT remembers you and his
remembering you is of a higher
degree than your remembering Him,
and secondly, remembrance of Allah
SWT is the most exalted among all
other prayers.
(Al Qul Al Mahmood
8. ZIKR –E- DAWAM (CONTINUOUS REMEMBERENCE )
Hazrat Abu Said Khudri RZ and Hazrat Abu Huraira RZ reported that the Prophet Mohammed PBUH said
“When any group of men remember Allah SWT, angels surround them and mercy covers them, tranquility
descends upon them, and Allah SWT, mentions them to those who are with Him.

TAWAKKAL
(RELIANCE ON ALLAH)
Another compulsory duty enjoined on the
faithful and true aspirants is Tawakkul
which means, complete reliance and faith
in God. The destiny as laid down by Him.
In all matters of our life we are expected,
after doing our best, to leave the results to
the will of God. In an advanced stage,
Tawakkul implies that even for procuring
means of day to day subsistence, one
should not strive, or look on the causes;
one had to look towards the Cause of
causes. The Prophet Ibrahim AHS when he
was about to be catapulted in fire by the
tyrant Namrud, was asked by the great
angel Hazrat Gibrael AHS, why he would
not seek the help of God, replied, if it was
the will of God that he should be burnt
alive, he would surrender to the Divine
Will; he would not ask for anything against
it. This is an example of complete
Tawakkul.
(Fragrance of Khalifatullah)
10. SUHBAT-E-SADIQEEN (Company of the righteous)
Hazrat Abu Moosa Al Ashari RZ, reported that
the Prophet Mohammed PBUH said “The example of a good companion and a bad one is the bearer of
musk and the worker on the bellows. A bearer of must would give you some, you might buy some form him,
or you might enjoy the fragrance of his musk. The worker on the bellows, on the other hand, might spoil your

SUHBAT-E-SADIQEEN
(COMPANYOF THE
RIGHTEOUS)
Allah SWT says. “O believers have fear
of Allah SWT and be in the company
of the Ascetics (Surah Tuaba, A119).
Therefore every believer must have
fear of Allah SWT and live in the
company of a truthful person. The
fear of Allah SWT is such as
compulsory deed, which is clearly
evident. The reason for company of
the Ascetics being compulsory is that
the word Kunu is in imperative from
which is a proof for such order being
the compulsory to act so long as there
is no other indication which prohibits
its being compulsory, In this holy
verse the word kunu has occurred in
this i.e., with it there is no indication
which prevents its being compulsory
(farz).
(Al Aqaid, Part IV by Hazrat Allama Shamsi)
12. HIJRAT (MIGRATION)
Narrated by Hazrat Umar bin Al Khattab RZ that The Prophet Mohammed PBUH said “The (reward of) deed
depend on intentions, and every person will get the reward according to what he intends. So, whoever migrated for
Allah SWT, and His Apostle Mohammed PBUH, then his migration will be for Allah SWT and His Apostle, and
whoever migrated for worldly benefits or for marrying a woman, then his migration will be for what he migrated for

HIJRAT
(MIGRATION)
Hazrat Mehdi AHS had made migration
(Hijrat) compulsory. It means that, the
land where due to opponents it is
prohibited to perform the religious deeds,
it becomes on believers compulsory (Farz)
that, they should migrate from that land
and go to a place where they can perform
submission to Allah SWT, peacefully.
Allah SWT, says i.e. those people who do
not migrate from the towns of the
disbelievers in spite of their weakness in
the religious to them the angels will say
‘whether the land of all was not (wide)
enough for you, it was mandatory on you
to leave those places’. For such people
there is hell and it is a very bad place. For
this reason only Hazrat Mehdi AHS, had
made the act of Hijrat as a compulsory
deed when ever such conditions are
prevailing. (Al Aqaid, Part IV)
13. UZLAT- UZ-KHALQ
(SECLUSION FROM PUBLIC)
Narrated by Hazrat Abu Said Al Khudri RZ that A Bedouin came to the Prophet Mohammed PBUH and said
“O Allah’s Apostle! Who is the best of mankind? “The Prophet Mohammed PBUH said “A man who strives for
Allah SWT cause with his life and property, and also a man who lives (all alone) in a mountain paths to worship
his Lord and save the people from his evil. (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 76, Book 8, Number 501)

UZLAT-UZ-KHALQ
(SECLUSION FROM PUBLIC)
The Holy Quran, through its various
verses, enjoins upon the Muslims to
be always attached to God by always
remembering him. Anything which
prevents or comes in the way of this
attachment should be avoided. Hence the
staunch lovers of God and all saints
preferred retirement and seclusion
particularly in the initial stages of their
spiritual progress. Hazrat Mehdi AHS said
that for developing deep love of God
(Ishq-e-Ilahi) one should live in seclusion
and retirement avoiding company of
crowds, including that of the near and
dear in order to avoid all distractions and
to be absorbed in meditation. For a lover
of God, this attitude and habit is
compulsory. Prophet Mohammed PBUH
spent long days in deep meditation in the
sacred cave of Hira near Mecca. All saints
followed his example.
