However many adolescent boys struggle to make and keep close friends. The HHS Office of Adolescent Health (OAH) and the federal Interagency Working Group on Youth Programs have developed a new video, “The Crisis of Connection for Adolescent Boys,” which underscores this struggle to connect and provides guidance on how to foster supportive friendships among adolescent boys. This is the first in a new TAG Talks video series created as part of the Adolescent Health: Think, Act, Grow® (TAG) call to action and is accompanied by discussion guides for professionals and families and additional resources.

Religion and medicine have historically gone hand in hand, but increasingly have come into conflict in the U.S. as health care has become both more secular and more heavily regulated. Law has a dual role here, simultaneously generating conflict between religion and health care, for example through new coverage mandates or legally permissible medical interventions that violate religious norms, while also acting as a tool for religious accommodation and protection of conscience. This conference identified the various ways in which law intersects with religion and health care in the United States, examined the role of law in creating or mediating conflict between religion and health care, and explored potential legal solutions to allow religion and health care to simultaneously flourish in a culturally diverse nation.

John Clayton the lobbyist has enjoyed a successful career in the politics of the state of Georgia, something he accredits to receiving a solid educational foundation. John attended the University of Georgia in 1998, impassioned and intrigued with the political process. That same passion would help skyrocket him to the top of his class, and John would graduate three short years later with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, preparing him for the political world.

Setting the Agenda © 2018 Laureate Education, Inc. 1 Setting the Agenda Program Transcript FEMALE SPEAKER: How do you get a policymaker's attention? It's very simple. You develop a relationship with that person. Don't wait until you need something. Develop the relationship early on. [MUSIC PLAYING] FEMALE SPEAKER: Sometimes it's difficult to get issues on the agenda that are our issues, that might be an issue that's of interest to a nurse, if it doesn't align with the interests and the priorities of that elected official. So it's really important to know what their priorities are, what their health issues are that they're most interested in. You can usually Google their name. You can get their official bios. You can read about the committees that they serve on and the issues that matter to them. And look to see whether or not their agenda matches with yours, or if there's a way you can leverage your issue into their agenda. FEMALE SPEAKER: Know exactly what the congressional members have on their agenda. And you can get them online, through their local office, or through their congressional office in Washington, DC. Find out what they're interested in. Find out how you can help them. You need to call them up, or you need to go visit the office and find out exactly what is being done. FEMALE SPEAKER: Call up a state senator and say, I am so-and-so. I would like to meet with you. I'm a registered nurse. And I think I may have something that you might be interested to talk about. FEMALE SPEAKER: Do the homework you need to do to get up to speed, not just on the issue and a potential solution you may be advocating, but also their background so that you can calibrate your conversation with them in ways that will resonate for them, that they'll understand and appreciate. FEMALE SPEAKER: It's often helpful to have what is known as a policy entrepreneur. That's a big word that simply says, do you have anybody who's on your side or who's really interested or who can continue to work with your policymaker when you're out doing your own practice. It could be a retired legislator. It could be a current legislator, someone who's willing to support a bill and then could perhaps introduce your bill, because only legislators can introduce bills. The president cannot, the governor cannot. That's the purview of the General Assembly or the Congress. FEMALE SPEAKER: People want to hear from their constituents. Ideally, you are communicating with the people who represent you. So that's almost always the first place to start, your elected official, not the one two states over. That might be appealing, because you know their name from national news. And you certainly Setting the Agenda © 2018 Laureate Education, Inc. 2 can communicate to them. But the voices that often matter the most, I've found, are the voices from local communities back home in the district or the state that that Senator o.

hi can you you this assignemnnt by tomarrow? Hi I purchased this HCA 415 Week 3 Discussion ( Essential Services Personal Interview ) - A Graded - Quality Work - 100% Original - Plagiarism Free I already have answer for the discussion but I need to continue with the same interview I had for the discussion and do the assignment. It can be 2-3 pages instead of 4. Can you submit it by tomarrow? It has to be based on the interview provided in discussion. Assignment instructions are also stated below. Below is the Discussion Essential Services Personal Interview Select a population (maternal, infant, child, adolescent, young adults, older adults, elderly) and research the most critical health issues affecting this population. Describe the most critical health issues affecting your selected population. Describe at least three public health/community services that exist in your own community to address these issues. Contact one of these services’ directors (or representative) and inquire about the agency’s effectiveness by asking these questions: Do you feel your organization has made a difference? What are your main barriers and how are the barriers to services being addressed? What are the ethical considerations of your services and how are they addressed? How is your organization funded? What concerns are still unmet in your opinion? Are these areas that will be addressed in the future? What role does your organization play in the overall public health arena? Present a brief overview of the organization, including its mission and goals/objectives, and then post your interview notes in the discussion forum Your original post must contain at least one additional scholarly source in addition to the textbook. ANSWER 1 The issue that I chose for my critical health issue is family planning and teenage pregnancies. For years, it seemed that everywhere I turned there were young teenage girls that were pregnant surrounding me. Currently, “the U.S. still has a teen birthrate of 31.2 per 1,000 teens, nearly one-and-a-half times the rate in the United Kingdom, which has one of the highest rates in Western Europe (Vestal, 2015, para. 1). I believe that prevention programs are the best method to reduce the high teenage pregnancy rates. The World Health Organization stated that, “family planning is a method for helping people to have the desired number of children and for spacing births” (as cited in Friis, et al., 2013, 5.2, para. 2). Healthy People 2020 set their goal for family planning to improve the spacing and planning of pregnancy, but also to prevent unwanted pregnancies (Friis, et al., 2013). Covenant House has on-site counselors who help teen moms work on building confidence and gain independence. Moms can attend their workshops that teach them various parenting skills and the importance for them and their children to live healthy lives. The Covenant House also provides on-site childcare so that these have the capability to comp.

Barry 1 Barry 4 English 102 07 April 2019 Abortion Legalization- A Matter of Social Justice and Human Rights From religious beliefs on morality, social backgrounds on ethics, and societal stereotypes, abortion has been for a long time considered a crime in many parts of the world — the debates associated with the issue focus on its right and wrongs. Religious fanatics have always argued that God is the giver of life and that no man has the power to end it. On the other hand, policymakers have termed the fetus as having the rights to enjoy life. The early developmental process during the neonatal should not be confused with the aspect of the fetus lacking a potential to grow into a fully developed child. Therefore, anyone who commits an abortion has been stereotyped as murder because of ending a pregnancy before a normal birth. Laws, mostly in advanced nations such as the United States, have become liberal regarding abortion despite opposition from many stakeholders. The topic of abortion and its process serves as a painful issue for women and men who face the moral dilemma of whether or not to eliminate pregnancy. The situation has made the topic to become polarized as people take different sides concerning their status and outcome. With the above knowledge, the paper supports abortion and perceives it as social justice and human rights issue. Background Information concerning Abortion in the Society Zane et al. (2015) provide comprehensive data regarding the abortion incidence in the United States. In the last five years, more than 36 abortions that have occurred annually, affecting close to 1000 women between the age of 15 and 44 years in developing countries. The developed nations have only experienced 27 abortions. Compared to the region between 1990 and 1994, it is evident that abortion has significantly dropped (Zane et al., 2015). When it comes to developing nations, there is no significant change regarding abortion rates. In regions whereby abortion is frequent in areas where the law has banned it. In areas with the least-restrictive category, there have been cases of decline in the last few years (Wu, Maru, Regmi, & Basnett, 2017). On the other hand, Ananat & Hungerman (2012) describes the significance of abortion laws in controlling the issue. Laws are concerned with permitting abortion without possibilities of restrictions as to the reason. As of two years ago, over 42% of women with reproductive capacity live in 125 nations where governments restrict abortion. The laws are known to focus on the safety of women (Ananat & Hungerman, 2012). In countries with highly restrictive contexts, women have a high likelihood of experiencing safer clandestine abortions. Women have the opportunity to use medication abortion techniques-mostly the combination of mifepristone and mistropol to ease the pain and for successful undertakings of the process. In such nations, the women who undertake abortions experience 55% safet.

Many youth leaders are compelled to do work with community based non-profit and local public health agencies as both a service learning and philanthropic component in their development as young professionals. However, despite invaluable experiential learning, students often don\'t comprehend key overarching issues such as health disparities, social determinants of health, health policy and community organizing. To address this gap and optimize their community based work, the Health Disparities Student Collaborative (HDSC), a Boston-based student group under Critical MASS for eliminating health disparities and the Center for Community Health Education Research and Service Inc. (CCHERS), developed a curriculum for students designed to broaden their perspectives while working with local public health, non-profit/community organizations and to develop their interest and ability to visualize the power of their collective voice as students and contributors to social justice work. The curriculum utilizes peer education and webinar software and covers three main topics: Current State of Health Disparities, Social Determinants of Health, and Youth Activism on Health Disparities/Social Determinants of Health. HDSC has collaborated with local partners CCHERS/Critical MASS and the Community Based Public Health Caucus (CBPHC) Youth Council to develop this comprehensive “Health Equality Peer Education” training.
