2. Defination
• A magnetic resnant coupling system uses a pair of coil with additional
capacitance , which makes the transmitter and receiver have the same
resonant frequency to transmit power wirelessly. It enables a highly efficient
energy.
3. Wireless power transmission
• WPT is a method to transfer power wirelessly by using many methods.
• Most comon method is inductive coupling that was introduced by Nikola
Tesla about a century ago.
4. Methods of WPT
• Inductive coupling
• Magnetic resonance coupling
• Strongly coupled system
5. WPT through Magnetic resonance
• Power transfer by using two magnetic coils.
• Two coupled coils are used for wireless power transfer.
• These coils should have same frequency.
• One will be source coil that will transmit the power. It is also called
transmitter coil.
• The other will be receiver coil that will be attached with the load.
• Here load will be the electric vehicle.
7. Explaination
• To transmit power wirelessly is also called WiTricity.
• When we give electricity to the coil(magnetic resonator) the rapidly
oscillating current applied to the coil at a a specific resonance frequency. It
will create strong magnetic field in a region of coil.
• When we placed the second resonant coil of the same frequency, it will be
coupled. And it will convert that magnetic field into the electric current
anywhere in that magnetic field region.
• This response is called highly coupled magnetic resonance.
8. Continue…
• Then we can attach the second coil (receiver coil) to the circuit for using that
electricity.
• Such as charging of electric vehicle.
• We can use this method of magnetic resonance to deliver power to the long
distance.
• We can deliver power to the load around the walls of the metal obstacles.
• We can also use this method to deliver power to the multiple devices by placing the
coils in that magnetic field of the source coil.
