3. 1. Know Test Series
Determine which Praxis tests you’ll need to take, and where you can take them. Each state
sets its own testing requirements, so be sure to check for each state you plan to become
certified.
Praxis Test divided into two parts one is Praxis I and another is the Praxis II. The Praxis I is
used for licensure as well as to qualify candidates for entry into a teacher education
program. The Praxis I tests measure basic skills and are divided into three separate exams:
Praxis Mathematics, Praxis Reading and Praxis Writing. Praxis I exams are mostly multiple
choice with an essay in the writing test, and are offered in both electronic and paper
versions.
Another hand, the Praxis II assesses a teaching candidate’s general skills and specific subject
area knowledge. The different Praxis II exams fall into three categories based on what they
measure. There three category are Subject Assessments, Principles of Learning Tests and
