Programme Introduction
In rapidly changing technology and business environments, Entrepreneurs can no longer build successful
companies based on existing, traditional or old business models. The idea that what worked earlier will
continue to work forever, is outdated and dangerous thinking.

Unique and creative business models have the ability to change an entire industry and make new entrants
hugely successful and profitable, while incumbents die a slow and painful death. This is proven where new Apple
iPhone and Google Android phone business models have made them the leaders in the mobile phone industry
beating former market leader Nokia; while in software Salesforce.com devised a creative business model to dethrone
the former leader in CRM technology Siebel Systems.

Sadly, most Malaysian companies don‟t even understand Business Models and tend to follow the crowd by copying
or adopting the business models of their closest competitors, and hence have to compete with them on the same
playing field, often failing to entice customers or just barely surviving on a day-to-day basis. New Business Models
are critical to compete more successfully, to offer better value and to gain exceptional margins of
profitability.

This is a 2-Phase Intensive Program incorporating a „Business Model Pitch” created to help you improve your
business prospects and create a more profitable business model. It is an action oriented programme that
involves your management team in planning for the future success of your business. You will discover new
and unknown business models and you may just uncover a model that will help your business to create a
powerful new direction towards more profitable growth.

Programme - Day 1
Duration: One Day | Workshop
The programme begins with one (1) day of intensive knowledge sharing session following by
workshop exercises. Participants will be involved in Business Model (BM) creation and
execution using the concept of the ‘Business Model Canvas’.

In this one-day session, participants will:

Learn how to describe, challenge, and design profitable business models
Appreciate powerful examples of innovative business models, such as Salesforce.com,
 Apple iPhone/iPod, and many more
Explore different business models to boost future growth
Identifying the range of potential activities not addressed by your current model but which
 may present new opportunities for your business to capture.

Programme - Day 2
Duration: Day 2| Business Model Canvas Pitch
In preparation for Day 2, participants will be given the opportunity to review your own BM and
to prepare a pitch of your company’s Business Model Canvas.

You will be required to prepare a 10-minute pitch presentation as homework for Day 1.

Format of Business Model Canvass Pitch

Each company will be given 10 minutes to present their own company‟s BM Canvas to a
panel of coaches who will then give them their input and feedback on improving their
business model.

All participants will participate in a group environment and will be asked to score the pitches
thereby enabling a special mode of learning by pitching and scoring.

Group discussions on key learning from the pitching and scoring session will be held in the
afternoon.

Pitching is voluntary but highly recommended.

Programme - Day 2 Duration: Day 2| Business Model Canvas Pitch In preparation for Day 2, participants will be given the opportunity to review your own BM and to prepare a pitch of your company’s Business Model Canvas. You will be required to prepare a 10-minute pitch presentation as homework for Day 1. Format of Business Model Canvass Pitch Each company will be given 10 minutes to present their own company‟s BM Canvas to a panel of coaches who will then give them their input and feedback on improving their business model. All participants will participate in a group environment and will be asked to score the pitches thereby enabling a special mode of learning by pitching and scoring. Group discussions on key learning from the pitching and scoring session will be held in the afternoon. Pitching is voluntary but highly recommended.
