This document summarizes a research study conducted by INTERACT Victoria investigating residents' support for and potential use of an All Ages and Abilities (AAA) Cycling Network in Victoria, Canada. The study used an online survey of 281 residents who cycle at least monthly. Results found that 79% of participants thought the AAA Network was a good idea and 88% said they would be likely to cycle more once built. Analyses found no significant differences in support based on demographics. The conclusions state that the AAA Network will likely promote more cycling in Victoria. Future phases will analyze additional qualitative and usage data.

RESEARCH QUESTION
Do residents of Victoria support and will they use the
AAA Cycling Network over other types of cycling
infrastructure?
HYPOTHESIS
Victoria residents will support and use
the All Ages and Abilities Cycling
Network.
METHODS
Participants: 281 participants who cycle at
least once a month did an online survey.
Data Collection Period: Data collection from
May 19, 2017 to November 30, 2017.
Analysis: Descriptive statistics and logistic
regression comparing sociodemographic
factors.

RESULTS
Participants
51% female
Mean age = 44.9 years (SD = 13.6)
Participants were Caucasian (86%), married
(71%), reported very good or excellent
health (73%) and had incomes greater than
$50,000 per year (76%).
No differences between age, gender, ethnicity, income, health
status and martial status, on participants intention to cycle
more on the AAA network.

CONCLUSIONS
The AAA Network will promote cycling in
the City of Victoria.
Future studies will analyze qualitative
interviews, GPS, and accelerometer data from
participants. We will analyze changes over time
with data collected in 2019 and 2021.
