Renewable energy is energy that comes from resources which are continually
                              replenished.

Solar energy
Energy from sunlight is captured in
solar panels and converted into electricity.
Electric utilities use photovoltaics, a process by which solar energy is converted directly
                                        to electricity.
Electricity can be produced directly from solar energy using photovoltaic devices or
indirectly from steam generators using solar thermal collectors to heat a working fluid.
Solar energy is used for heating water for domestic use, space heating of buildings,
drying agricultural products, and generating electrical energy.
Advantages
Ø Potentially infinite energy supply.
Ø Single dwellings can have own electricity supply.
Disadvantages
Ø Manufacture and implementation of solar panels can be costly.
Ø The intermittent and variable manner in which it arrives at the earth's surface.
Climate change
Climate change is a significant and lasting change in average
weather conditions, or in the distribution of weather around the average conditions.
Climate change is caused by factors that include oceanic processes
variations in solar radiation received by Earth, plate tectonics and volcanic eruptions,
and human-induced alterations of the natural world.
Acid rain

Acid rain is a rain or any other form of precipitation that is unusually
acidic. Acid rain is caused by emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide, which
react with the water molecules in the atmosphere to produce acids.
SENTENCES T/F
Sun is the main source of energy on earth. True

Solar energy causes pollution. False

Solar energy will not run out for billions of years. True

Solar energy is only available when the sun is shining. True

The sun's rays can't be used in the form of solar energy. False

The energy Earth receives from the sun is very spread out. True

Solar energy can't be converted into electrical energy. False
