GOVERNMENT OF TAMILNADU HAS  INTRODUCED  AN  EARLY   INTERVENTION   PROGRAMME , TO HELP  THE  HEARING IMPAIRED  CHILDREN  OF 0-5 YEARS OF AGE WHAT DOES  EARLY  INTERVENTION MEAN ?
WHAT IS EARLY INTERVENTION? THE IDEA IS TO IDENTIFY HEARING IMPAIRED CHILDREN AT A VERY EARLY AGE . THESE CHILDREN ARE  THEN TRAINED BY SPECIAL EDUCATORS, WHO ENABLE THE CHILDREN  DEVELOP COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS, LIKE  NORMAL CHILDREN. THEN THE CHILDREN ARE  PUT IN THE MAIN STREAM, IN A NORMAL SCHOOL, LIKE A NORMAL  CHILD . [WITH JUST ONE DIFFERENCE: THE CHILD CONTINUES TO  USE THE HEARING AID] THE CHILDREN ARE TAUGHT ONLY IN THEIR MOTHER TONGUE-TAMIL
Early Intervention,  Enables The Child  To Acquaint Quickly With  The  Proper  Hearing World And Facilitates  Early  Rehabilitation
Nurture  The  Root , Prune The  Plant , The  Tree  Will Come Out Healthy.
IT IS A GOVT. SPONSORED PROGRAMME. TWO TEACHERS  IN A DISTRICT WITH A DIPLOMA IN  DTYHI [DIPLOMA  IN TEACHING YOUNG HEARING IMPAIRED] ARE SELECTED. THE  GOVT. ALSO PERMITS ONE AAYHA PER  10 CHILDREN. IF TRAINED  TEACHERS ARE NOT AVAILABLE, THEN MONTESSORI TRAINED OR  GRADUATES WITH  B.Ed, ARE  SELECTED AND THEN THEY ARE TRAINED  FOR ONE YEAR IN  ‘ BALAVIDHYALAYA   TEACHER TRAINING  INSTITUTE  ‘ CHENNAI.
MISS.SUBASHINI AND  MRS.VADIVAMBIGAI  ARE TWO SUCH TRAINED TEACHERS  SELECTED AND ASSIGNED TO VELA SCHOOL. BOTH OF THEM HAVE COMPLETED ORIENTATION PROGRAMMES CONDUCTED BY  BALAVIDHYALAYA , INSTITUTE FOR TEACHERS TRAINING, CHENNAI. MISS.SUBASHINI IS UNDERGOING  ONE YEAR TRAINING IN BALAVIDYALA AND SHE WILL BE COMPLETING THE TRAINING IN APRIL 2010. MRS.VADIVAMBIGAI WILL FOLLOW SUIT AFTER MISS.SUBASHINI RETURNS TO SCHOOL.
THEY ARE CALLED  SPECIAL   EDUCATORS   AND  GET  A HONORARIUM OF RS.6000/pm AND  THE AYAH GETS RS.1000/pm. THE SPECIAL EDUCATOR MUST EXECUTE A BOND TO THE INSTITUTE, TO THE EFFECT THAT THEY WOULD WORK IN THE EARLY INTERVENTION CENTRE FOR A MINIMUM PERIOD OF FIVE YEARS, FAILING WHICH THEY  WOULD  AGREE TO PAY BACK THE AMOUNT SPENT ON THEM DURING  THE TRAINING  PERIOD, BY THE GOVT.
MISS. SUBASHINI  B.B.A.,M.Com . D.O.B 28.7.1980 HAS  OBTAINED  ONE YEAR PRE-PRIMARY  TEACHERS’ TRAINING DIPLOMA FROM TAMIL NADU  OPEN  UNIVERSITY, IN 2006. SHE HAS JOINED THIS INSTITUTE  IN  OCTOBER 2008. SHE HAS ALSO UNDERGONE ORIENTATION PROGRAMME CONDUCTED BY BALA VIDYALA , INSTITUTE FOR TEACHER TRAINING , CHENNAI IN COLLABORATION WITH THE OFFICE OF THE STATE COMMISSIONER FOR THE DISABLED, GOVT OF TAMILNADU, CHENNAI BETWEEN 13 TH  OCTOBER AND  24 TH  OCTOBER 2008

  • 2. GOVERNMENT OF TAMILNADU HAS INTRODUCED AN EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAMME , TO HELP THE HEARING IMPAIRED CHILDREN OF 0-5 YEARS OF AGE WHAT DOES EARLY INTERVENTION MEAN ?
  • 3. WHAT IS EARLY INTERVENTION? THE IDEA IS TO IDENTIFY HEARING IMPAIRED CHILDREN AT A VERY EARLY AGE . THESE CHILDREN ARE THEN TRAINED BY SPECIAL EDUCATORS, WHO ENABLE THE CHILDREN DEVELOP COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS, LIKE NORMAL CHILDREN. THEN THE CHILDREN ARE PUT IN THE MAIN STREAM, IN A NORMAL SCHOOL, LIKE A NORMAL CHILD . [WITH JUST ONE DIFFERENCE: THE CHILD CONTINUES TO USE THE HEARING AID] THE CHILDREN ARE TAUGHT ONLY IN THEIR MOTHER TONGUE-TAMIL
  • 4. Early Intervention, Enables The Child To Acquaint Quickly With The Proper Hearing World And Facilitates Early Rehabilitation
  • 5. Nurture The Root , Prune The Plant , The Tree Will Come Out Healthy.
  • 6. IT IS A GOVT. SPONSORED PROGRAMME. TWO TEACHERS IN A DISTRICT WITH A DIPLOMA IN DTYHI [DIPLOMA IN TEACHING YOUNG HEARING IMPAIRED] ARE SELECTED. THE GOVT. ALSO PERMITS ONE AAYHA PER 10 CHILDREN. IF TRAINED TEACHERS ARE NOT AVAILABLE, THEN MONTESSORI TRAINED OR GRADUATES WITH B.Ed, ARE SELECTED AND THEN THEY ARE TRAINED FOR ONE YEAR IN ‘ BALAVIDHYALAYA TEACHER TRAINING INSTITUTE ‘ CHENNAI.
  • 7. MISS.SUBASHINI AND MRS.VADIVAMBIGAI ARE TWO SUCH TRAINED TEACHERS SELECTED AND ASSIGNED TO VELA SCHOOL. BOTH OF THEM HAVE COMPLETED ORIENTATION PROGRAMMES CONDUCTED BY BALAVIDHYALAYA , INSTITUTE FOR TEACHERS TRAINING, CHENNAI. MISS.SUBASHINI IS UNDERGOING ONE YEAR TRAINING IN BALAVIDYALA AND SHE WILL BE COMPLETING THE TRAINING IN APRIL 2010. MRS.VADIVAMBIGAI WILL FOLLOW SUIT AFTER MISS.SUBASHINI RETURNS TO SCHOOL.
  • 8. THEY ARE CALLED SPECIAL EDUCATORS AND GET A HONORARIUM OF RS.6000/pm AND THE AYAH GETS RS.1000/pm. THE SPECIAL EDUCATOR MUST EXECUTE A BOND TO THE INSTITUTE, TO THE EFFECT THAT THEY WOULD WORK IN THE EARLY INTERVENTION CENTRE FOR A MINIMUM PERIOD OF FIVE YEARS, FAILING WHICH THEY WOULD AGREE TO PAY BACK THE AMOUNT SPENT ON THEM DURING THE TRAINING PERIOD, BY THE GOVT.
  • 9. MISS. SUBASHINI B.B.A.,M.Com . D.O.B 28.7.1980 HAS OBTAINED ONE YEAR PRE-PRIMARY TEACHERS’ TRAINING DIPLOMA FROM TAMIL NADU OPEN UNIVERSITY, IN 2006. SHE HAS JOINED THIS INSTITUTE IN OCTOBER 2008. SHE HAS ALSO UNDERGONE ORIENTATION PROGRAMME CONDUCTED BY BALA VIDYALA , INSTITUTE FOR TEACHER TRAINING , CHENNAI IN COLLABORATION WITH THE OFFICE OF THE STATE COMMISSIONER FOR THE DISABLED, GOVT OF TAMILNADU, CHENNAI BETWEEN 13 TH OCTOBER AND 24 TH OCTOBER 2008
