Author's Den Creative Writing Club Poetry Contest April 2012 Rules
1. Author’s Den National Poetry Month Competition Rules
Rules, options, and other dry stuff:
1. Poem must be entirely submitter’s own work. Plagiarism is not cool!
2. Submit poems with author’s name and contact details on entry form
please; do not put your contact information or name on the actual
copy of your poem.
Contact details can be one’s phone number, or one’s first period
teacher.
3. Poems may be submitted anonymously, but the contact details must
be clear (phone # would be good) if you want us to award you the
prize, and not a random stranger.
4. You may submit ORIGINAL poems that you did for school. We know
how it is.
5. Poems will be judged by student amateurs with no rubric. We will
look for “the rightest words in the rightest order”, as James Dickey
once said.
6. There is a limit of three to the number of poems one author can
submit. Sadly, we can only make time to read three poems from each
person, but we like poems. More is better!
7. The decision of the judges is final.
8. Teachers and members of the Author’s Den club, you may submit for
your own enjoyment, but not for prizes. Thanks for understanding.
9. By submitting poetry, you agree to these terms.
Thanks! Looking forward to your submissions!
