Chicago houses nice parks, museums and zoos. Not only that, it is filled with stunning
architecture plus plenty shopping excursions.
The Navy Pier is put up in 1916 and reconstructed during the early 1990s headed by Mayor
Richard Daley to promote Chicago tourism. It has a children’s museum, a gigantic 150 ft Ferris
wheel and IMAX theatre; these alone can give you and you kids a very delightful experience.
2. This is the place for all age groups because aside from the above mentioned; it also has shopping
places, restaurant and music that you can go to. It also has a stunning one-acre indoor botanical
garden called the Crystal Gardens surrounded by palm trees, fountains, and many plant varieties.
You can also find here a miniature golf course, carousel, cliff climb and funhouse. It is the
perfect family vacation getaway.
3. The Millennium Park is a newly built tourist spot in Chicago which opened in 2004 and had a
$300 million over budget. It is an open-air creative area and is the abode of Juame Plensa’s
Crown Fountain, a clear pool with two high glass block towers 50 ft tall that exhibit videos of
locals who spew out water cascades during talks.
Here you can also find Anish Kapoor’s sculpture and The Bean which mirrors Chicago’s famous
skyline in the high class polished steel plates. There you can also find Lurie Garden which
4. provides a scenic breather amidst the chaotic city. In winter, the McCormick Tribune Plaza is
transformed to an ice rink where people go ice skating.
Another attraction is the Lincoln Park Zoo which is a free cultural institution of Chicago. It is
available everyday and is well-known as one of the oldest zoos in the whole country. Even so, it
features high-tech and modern amenities. There is a newly opened Regenstein Center for African
Apes which is a world quality amenity which is dedicated to serve as a natural and interesting
abode for gorillas and chimps.
5. The museums of Chicago display the culture of the place. The city has a famous museum
campus where you can find the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum and Adler Planetarium.
The Field Museum exhibits displays on natural history, zoology, archaeology, anthropology and
geology. Here you can find the biggest and most well-preserve T-rex named Sue.
6. The Shedd Aquarium is an old public aquarium which serves as a haven to various wildlife all
over the globe.
7. Adler Planetarium is the primary planetarium created in the West hemisphere. Tourist can
appreciate the various astronomy related exhibits and shows as well as historical collections, plus
the StarRider theatre with a 360º movie screen and most importantly the highlight which is the
stars view projected on the historic arena of the planetarium.
When you’re in Chicago, you can’t miss shopping on the famous Magnificent Mile. The stretch
of Michigan Avenue is lined with signature and branded stores such as Chanel, Gucci, Tiffany,
Louis Vuitton and Giorgio Armani. There are also budget friendly stores around the Water
Tower Place which is comprised of a Marshall Field’s store. After the shopping galore, have a
striking meal at the Walnut Room Restaurant.
