Social Selling is all about Building Equity
The hot topic in sales and marketing is a term called Social Selling; this is a
process that is created using the power of social networking. I truly believe
that the sales process has completely changed.
If you’re in a sales position, gone are the days of cold calls if
you’re able to harness the power of selling via social.
This process is too often used by sales people to spam you with a LinkedIn
message or send you a DM on Twitter with a canned sales message and links
everywhere. The moment I get these messages, I have to admit that my loyalty
and trust with this person goes away, being that I know that they’re connecting and
building their networks just to SPAM them.
If you’ve been on the other end of these messages you know what I mean, and I
know that you have the same feeling that I do! The biggest hidden secret of social
selling is truly building that value with your network, so that when you personally
message someone they will respond and be happy to help!
I had the pleasure to interview Jack Kosakowski on the Be
Real Show, his strategies to social selling are truly genuine, he
is all about bringing value before being willing to ask for sales.
One key strategy that can benefit all social marketers and businesses is to take the
time daily to do the following. Connect to your community, and find ways to connect
your network together providing value and helping others connect. Think about
this… You see a post on LinkedIn that says, “I’m so frustrated about accounting that
I could pull my hair out!” Instead of commenting, I hope you’re okay, and it will all get
better. See if there is anyone in your network that does accounting that you can
maybe connect with your connection that is frustrated about accounting.
Be the connector, provide that added value by taking the
time to listen and connect your community.

people forget that selling is all about building relationships and providing value!
Take time this week to implement this “Social Connecting” strategy and I think
