  3. What does Access Services include (as constituted at UMD)? Added Learning Commons at my request due to staff departure
  4. 2015 reorganization. Article in Library Leadership & Management 7 units, 2 librarians, 5 exempt unit heads 39 people (34.75 FTE) + $400,000 in L&A funds for students & grad students
  5. Circulation trends: down nationwide Factors: equipment loan, longer loan periods, no auto renewals (yet), Uborrow affects transfers/holds Each step generates work, data (via ILS, Aleph)
  6. Course Reserves: Generally declining since introduction of Ares in 2008; number of courses and instructors relatively low 80 departments, 272 instructors, 444 courses 8,962 students, 4,880 items Served 23% of UMD students but only used with 4% of courses taught
  7. Activity for last year – 41% hard copy, 59% electronic Electronic used more heavily (total uses, uses per item, percentage used) Declining overall but textbooks are helping for now
  8. Overnight library use: 11pm-8am, Sunday-Thursday Data from 2014; stopped doing hourly counts in spring 2015 due to staffing
