• The house was inspired by local
flora and fauna in the area of
Pasadena
• Materials included
teak, oak, maple and mahogany.
There is also an abundant
amount of woodwork furniture
and details throughout the house.
4. lasting impressions
• The Gamble House is still a shining beacon of the Arts +
Crafts movement in California to this day, still making the
top lists of houses in California and the country
• Architecture, interior design and interior architecture
students to this day still learn and live in the house to
study the design principles used in the house.
