If I could live in another time period, I would
choose to live in the future because I’d really like to
know what kind of food people will eat, what they will
dress in, how their house will look and in what kind of
car they will ride.
In the future, I think people will use numbers to
call each other instead of using names. Their suits will
be able to help them fly in the sky and protect them
from any gunshots. People in the future will be able to
live under the sea or in the sky. They will all live in
huge sky-high buildings with all kinds of automatic
equipment. They will ride in cars that can float in the
sky, dive under the sea, and speed on rough land. In the
future, every machine will function efficiently and fast,
people will only push one button and everything will
start to work. In a short time, people will be able to get
whatever they want. Living in the future will be very
convenient.
Besides, I think children in the future will be
happier than us. They won’t need to go to school and
won’t need any teachers. They will learn by playing all

“A party” means people are invited or asked to celebrate something together.
However, I think a party looks much like a group of people playing games together.
What kind of party is my favorite? A birthday party, of course! Why? I think
most people like to have a party on their birthdays, so we can have fun almost every
day. And it is really convenient to go to a birthday party because everyone can
make new friends and play with old ones at the same time. We usually call the
person who is having a birthday a “birth star.” If this person is your friend, you can
also celebrate without worrying about being disturbed or criticized. And everyone
can be really cheerful. Besides, when it’s time to have the birthday cake, you might
have the privilege of choosing a very big piece of cake! Sometimes you might get a
gift from the “birth star” to take home as a souvenir, but this is not what most
people care about. The most important fact that people really care about is that
their friendship will improve a lot after this party.
Not only can a birthday party improve our friendships, but other kinds of parties
can, too. So just keep on going to parties, and your personality will surely be
enhanced unconsciously.

If I could have three wishes, my first wish would be being able to fly in the
sky, just like a bird. And I would live on the clouds and build my own castle on
the clouds. During the day, I would play and talk with the birds. At night, I
would dance on the stars and sing on the moon. And I could invite all my
family and friends to my castle. Life would be so wonderful then.
My second wish would be having magic powers. With my magic powers, I
would be able to help people, delight them and even bring them a surprise and
joy. And then the world would become extremely peaceful and lovely. It would
be really cool to have magic powers.
My last wish would be becoming a premiere in all kinds of movies, maybe a
main character in a fairy tale or a beautiful heroin in a romantic story. And in
the movies, I would experience different adventures and encounter all kinds of
people. And I would be able to learn a lot from these wonderful experiences
and my life would become very colorful.
Now I feel that three wishes don’t seem to be enough for me. Maybe I should
wish that I could have more wishes and that all my wishes would come true,
and….. Oops! I think I am being a little too greedy.

I became a new member of Ying-Ming Junior high School several weeks ago.
Before I entered junior high, many people told me that it won’t be fun to study in junior
high. On the first few days I came here, I was afraid of lots of different things, especially
when I had already got used to elementary school life. However, gradually, I got to know
more about my new school and liked this new environment. I also found that here in
Ying-Ming, there are a lot of funny and interesting things to do. Most important of all, I
have made a lot of wonderful new friends.
I am really lucky to have so many nice classmates and great teachers now. I go to
school happily every day because I can be together with them at school. I love all the
subjects, especially English. I will be happy all day if I have English class on that day
because my English teacher, Ms. Chang is very cute and interesting. She makes me love
English class even more than before. I like my class teacher Ms. Chao, too. She is
always nice and kind to us. I think she is not only my teacher but also my good friend.
My school life as a member of Eagle Family is also very interesting. Our teacher,
Ms. Su teaches us a lot of things about English. I think she is a very good teacher. We
sing English songs, read wonderful stories, discuss literature works, write letters to pen
pals in Los Angles and translate English lyrics of pop songs into Chinese. I really love
these activities in class. Being one of the Eagle members makes me happy.
Although I have lots of quizzes and exams at school now, I still think my school life in
junior high is really wonderful.

I had a Husky two years ago. His name was Benson. My two older
sisters and I bought him without telling my mom because Mom hates
dogs very much.
At first, we hid Benson in my sisters’ room. However, Mom found him
as soon as she entered the room. Mom was angry and insisted on giving
him away in spite of our pleas and arguments. She told us that Husky
would grow very fast and become very big and strong. Both my sisters
would be too busy to take good care of him. A few months later, Mom
finally gave him to one of her friends. My sisters and I was so angry that
we refused to talk with Mom for several days. However, nothing could
change this. Benson had to leave.
Losing Benson still makes me sad, but I have a lot of sweet memories
about him. I remember his cute furry body and smart shining eyes. I
have a vivid image in my mind of walking with Benson on the grass.
Sometimes, I even dream about him at night. In the future, I plan to
raise a smaller dog because taking care of a smaller one might be easier.
And then, I will never let him leave me.

What do you think of our school uniform and sportswear? Some people think
they are beautiful but some don’t. Some people think it’s boring to go to school in
uniform every day and want to wear their own clothes to school.
Personally speaking, I think our school uniform is beautiful, especially the girls’
winter uniform. The business suit upper outer garment with a red necktie and the
long grill skirt really look nice on teenager girls. Most of my friends think the same
as I. And they are proud of wearing the winter uniform, too. The boys’ winter
uniform also looks nice. It is a white business suit and red necktie, just like the
girls’. The only difference is that the boys’ uniform has gray trousers. However, it
looks like you are wearing pajamas when you put on the winter sportswear. So
both boys and girls don’t like wearing our winter sportswear. I don’t like it, either.
Surely, you needn’t worry about what you should wear if you have a uniform or
sportswear. Wearing a uniform not only is more convenient but also makes life
simpler for students and allows them to concentrate more on learning. So,
sometimes rules are not as annoying as you think. Every time I put on my school
uniform, I think I represent our school and feel proud from my heart to be one of
the school members although I really hope the school can design a uniform which
will make all of us look more beautiful all year long.

Maria, Jesus’ wife. On her neck, a man
does an action which looks like he wants



there should be only 26 hands. The
twenty-seventh hand is holding a
knife. What does it try to do?



female. Mona Lisa is the best example.
Not only Da Vinci, but also Newton ,
Botticelli and Hugo are all in this

Vincent Van Gogh is a tragic
artist. His works become
important to common people until
he died. It’s hard to think that his
picture was only sold for five or ten
cents in Breda market in 1903 .
But now each of his pieces costs at
least one million dollars.

Vincent Van Gogh was born in a
village called Groot- Zunder in
Brabant in 1853. People speak
approvingly of how he cope with the
light and color. His stroke is very
heavy ,so he always detain a layer
thick pigment. He died in 1890,at the
age of 37. We can find a lot of his
pieces in Van Gogh Art Gallery in
Amsterdan.

Since 2300 years ago, a philosopher Plato
described that Atlantis town has been
disappeared. Is that true ？ It is still an
enigma today.
At that time, Atlantis and Athens was wage
war against each other. But Atlantis suffered
the earthquake and just one day, the Atlantis
town destroyed. The scientists discovered that
under the Gibraltar channel water surface has
an island. It was happened a really big
earthquake and a huge tsunami.

what's more, we are not
sure if the incident had
happened. It also just a
story Plato heard.
But Imaging there was a

Once there was a scientist, he wanted to find
a cargo ship which was sent to the bottom by
America. But he sudden found a little mermaid.
And the mermaid said he comes from Atlantis.
Afterwards, they caught the mermaid and put
him into a limpid sink. The little mermaid has
gills, the scales of fish and a pair of green hands.
The mermaid negotiated with the team
members. If they liberate him, he can answer
any of their questions.

He said that Atlantis has submerged for
million of years. The Atlantis residents
lived under the sea. And the big city was
built with coral reef and marble. Finally,
they took the mermaid away and
researched it. After that, the mermaid
won’t speak anymore.

Beethoven was a famous German
composer whose music is immortal. Born
on December16 ， 1770 in Bonn ，
Germany ， he died in Vienna ， Austria
on Murch26 ， 1827. People called
Beethoven the “Music Saint” as he was
considered one of the greatest
composers. His most famous works
include Hero Symphony and Destiny
Symphony.

While living in poverty ，
Beethoven ， at age
three ， was already
showing signs of musical
talent. His father who was
a professional musical was
often drunk and had a bad
temper. He hit young
Ludwig and pushed him to
practice ， hoping that he
would become a second
Mozart ， namely a child
prodigy

At 8 years old ， Beethoven was
already performing as a solo pianist and
at 10 ， he was a court musician and
church organist. Mozart may have given
him a few lesson and Haydn tutored him
briefly ， but these two ， who were
already famous musicians ， had very
little time for young Beethoven.

Beethoven continued to be
successful as a concert pianist ，
teacher ， and composer. He was a
favorite in many noblemen’s houses.
Sadly ， his career as a pianist came to
an end in 1802 ， when he was only 28.
He began to lose his hearing until age
40 ， when he was almost completely
deaf.

Because he could no longer hear
his music, Beethoven became shy and
bitter even with his friends. At times he
was in such despair that he even tried
to kill himself more than once.
However, he continued to write and
some of his best music was composed
after he became completely deaf.

In Europe ， at the time ， attitudes
towards the nobility started to change. The
French Revolution came along and brought
freedom of expression ， quality and a
greater sense of brotherhood. Beethoven’s
music became more adventurous. His work
from that period displayed deeper
emotions and feelings of great power.

Beethoven’s music inspired many
with such intense excitement and
euphoria. He achieved his masterpiece in
completing his No.3 Hero Symphony at
the age of 33. Beethoven’s outstanding
uniqueness gained him the esteemed
praise of the Vienna Symphony
Orchestra. As he became Mozart’s heir ，
people began calling him “Music Saint”

Beethoven’s life
story taught us that even
deafness couldn't
destroy his great talent.
On the contrary, it made
him stronger and more
creative. Words alone
cannot describe the deep
emotions that his music
brings to the listener.
One must listen to it to
fully appreciate
Beethoven’s genius and
uncompromising spirit.
