1. Imaging at ACC.15:
Session Spotlight
The focus of the cardiology world
will be on San Diego for the
American College of Cardiology’s
Annual Scientific Session & Expo
on March 14–16. As usual, imaging
will be featured prominently, so
read on to learn about the can’t-
miss imaging sessions at ACC.15.
2. The PROMISE
of imaging
On Saturday, Late-Breaking Clinical
Trial Sessions will feature the
results of the PROMISE trial
(PROspective Multicenter Imaging
Study for Evaluation of chest pain),
which compared anatomic and
functional diagnostic testing to
evaluate chest pain. Come back
Sunday to hear the PROMISE team
discuss costs.
ACC.15 Main Tent (Hall H) – March
14 & 15 – 8:00 a.m.
3. Joint Imaging
Symposium
ACC partnered with a number of
other societies to offer a variety of
joint sessions, including the “Joint
Multimodality Imaging Symposium
with ASE/ASNC/SCCT/SCMR”.
Topics of discussion will include
imaging high risk diabetic patients,
imaging techniques for challenging
diagnoses, and patient-based
radiation safety.
Room 8 – March 14 – 12:15 p.m.
4. Back in time and
around the world
Get an international perspective
in a session from the Egyptian
Society of Cardiology and the ACC
Italy Chapter. Learn about current
applications of strain imaging as
well as the work of Adel Allam,
MD, from Al-Azhar University in
Cairo, and colleagues, who have
used CT on mummies to track
Egyptian heart disease going
back millennia.
Room 32B – March 15 – 8:00 a.m.
5. An intensive look
at cardio-oncology
ACC Intensives are half-day
programs offering a deep dive into a
particular subject. One of this year’s
ACC Intensives will discuss the
evolving inter-disciplinary area of
cardio-oncology, including the use of
cardiac imaging and radiation
therapy.
Room 7B – March 16 – 8:00 a.m.
6. Play ball
Another imaging-heavy ACC
Intensive will focus on sports
cardiology. Join leading experts
for case-based learning, debate
and discussion on caring for the
cardiovascular health of athletes,
including a look at novel
approaches to imaging.
Room 3 – March 16 – 10:45
