2. A patent landscape is all about knowing a particular technology in and out.
What are the methodologies behind it? Which materials or software’s does
it use? A PLA is a great tool to develop understanding over the technology.
During Landscape analysis, key features of the technology are identified
based on the known aspect of the client’s requirement in the technology
domain. Search results are manually analyzed in detail on description
claim basis and the data extracted in the earlier phase is manually
categorized based on different features defining different technology
levels based on the claims and description of the identified relevant
patents/publications. The extracted and categorized data is then digitized
and relevant trends (IP trend analysis) and technology patterns are
highlighted. Claim charts are made and added to the reports.
With XLPAT’s automated Landscape Viewer tool, you can do all of this online
over a secure network and even share it with your colleagues, lawyers or
patent attorneys in real time. XLPAT generates clickable graphs and
