Resume:
1987 – 2010 (Present) Working as a consultant through own company. Assisted shipyards and ship-
owners in their design and newbuilding programs. Among others, designed, built and commissioned a
series of Offshore Support Vessels and Offshore Supply vessels.
During this period also worked as a Safety Manager in the North Sea for five years.
• Assisted Shipyard de Hoop in Lobith – Housed – Houma, NL and USA in the marketing and the
design of numerous offshore support vessels and inland waterway ships
• Workfox and Workships Contractors BV, Rotterdam, NL, acting as Safety Manager for four
accommodation jack-ups, two supply vessels and two diving support vessels operating in the
North sea on the British, Norwegian and Dutch Continental Shelf.
• Commissioning the Royal Swedish Navy Submarine Rescue Vessel
• Worked together with the Royal Schelde Shipyard, Vlissingen, NL designing a Submarine rescue
Vessel for the Indian Navy

• Designed the Megathyst / Amethyst II series of semi-submersible drilling rigs for Petrodrill / Pride
(NL and USA)
• Designed the JBF 6000 for de Hoop – Huisman, NL.
• Assisted Allseas, Delft, NL with Rules and regulations for their conversion Pipe-lay project, the
Solitaire
• Involved in the design of all newbuildings for Otto Candies, LLC, Des Allemandes, LA and Otto
Candies Mexican Investment from 2002 to 2009.
• Designed the “SIM Vessel” for ExxonMobil on behalf of Otto Candies LLC..
• Assisting Huisman-Itrec, Schiedam, NL, with the basic design package of the drilling semi-
submersible vessel JBF 10000.
• Stena Line, Gothenburg, Sweden, plan approval (steel drawings) and newbuilding supervision for
the train/car/passenger ferry Stena Jutlandica
• Assisted Heerema Offshore Services, Leiden, NL with Rules and regulations for their Newbuild
Vessel, the large crane and Pipe-lay vessel project (NBV Project).
• Assisted IHC Merwede Marine & Offshore Shipyards, Hardinxveld-Giessendam, NL with the
design of a drilling vessels and other offshore vessels.
• Assisting Heerema Offshore Services with Rules and regulations for their Newbuild Monohull
Vessel, a large crane and Pipe-lay vessel project (NMV Project).
• On behalf of Aberdeen drilling Consultants, Aberdeen, UK, performing DP Audits on Mobile
Drilling Units. DP Audits has been carried out on behalf of Cairn Energy PLC, Reliance
Industries and Petrobras, Turkey.
• Producing DP FMEA reports on behalf of MAATS, Winchester, UK, including DP Trials for
pipe-laying vessels and self propelled jack ups with DP system.
• At present cooperating with MMC – Ship Design & Marine Consulting Ltd in Gdynia, Poland,
providing engineering services to a variety of shipyards in China, Europe and the United States of
America.
1981 – 1987 Technical Director of a Shipping / Engineering company Workships / Maritime Project
engineering, Rotterdam, NL. Designing, building and commissioning five Diving Support Vessels and one
Semi Submersible for Work over and Diving Support.
