2. PLANNING
• The act or process of making or carrying out plans
specifically : the establishment of goals, policies, and
procedures for a social or economic unit
3. Financial planning is not about buying financial
products
It is a continuous process.
In this process you have to take right investment
decision so that you can attain your investment goal.
5. Let us take an example :
If somebody want to loose weight
In this process ,you have to see:
1. Your total weight.
2. Weight you want to loose.
3. Exercise options / need dietician.
4. Choose the right option .
5. Plan accordingly and follow it at daily routine and review it
on general basis.
Choose
right
option
and plan
6. As we can see in the above example , same as case with
the financial planning or we can say we can relate the
above example with the financial planning as discussed below:
1. You need to understand your financial status.
2. On the basis of financial status made an investment goal.
3. On the basis of goal you made for your financial status , you need to
understand what sort of tools available in the market and choose the
best one suited you to accomplish your financial goal.
4. Plan the whole procedure accordingly and the review it on the daily or
monthly basis.
Choose the best
and plan
accordingly
7. Why financial planning is
important
1. Inflation:
E.g. Today if you want higher education then you cost around Rs. 25 lakhs and
if inflation hits every year around 7% then after 16 years it will be Rs. 73 lakhs
9. Insurance example:
Term life is less expensive that universal life insurance because it does
not build up any equity. You are fully covered during the term of the
policy, but you do not receive cash back when the term is over.
To illustrate, suppose SANJEEV has a term life insurance policy that covers
him financially in the event of death until the age of 40. Should SANJEEV
somehow die before the age of 40, the terms of the policy cover him and pay a
financial benefit. If SANJEEV lives past the age of 40, however, his policy will
not yield any financial benefit. He must renew the policy for another term
under new conditions.
How Much to Save:Three Example Factors to Consider:
Seniors:
• Usually have a
higher
contingency fund.
Individuals
• Usually prefer low
contingency fund.
Families
• Usually prefer a
moderate
contingency fund.
10. 3. Tax planning:
Financial planning helps us in tax planning so
that we can pay our taxes on time and we
will not spend on unnecessary things.
12. 4 . Cash flow management:
It means don’t do unnecessary spending on
non important things ,it will fire back ,when you are
in fond need of that thing and you are lack of money
at that time and ultimately you become hopeless at
that time .
13. Cash flow management example
For suppose there is a person and he is earning 20,000
per month and he has three options for reaching the office .
So now it is up to him what he prefer out of these three options for
reaching the office .
So if he manages his cash flow well he will go for two wheeler so
that fuel consumption will be less and in less time he will be there .
So cash flow management means not to do unnecessary expenses .
Planned everything based on your cash flow.
