In presentation the idea of automatically generated web interface for remote laboratory is presented. The concept is based on suitably prepared set of metadata, that is used to generate web client. In presented solution each remote experiment, sends metadata concerning user interface just before experiment session is started. Main advantages of this solution include: easier deployment and decreased development costs. This concept can be applied for various e-learning areas. The working example of such interface is shown and discussed.

Software is eating the world! Every company is becoming a software company. If companies don’t, they cease to exist. Just imagine: you are a thermostat maker and suddenly you have Google as a competitor (via its Nest acquisition). This is just one of the many recent examples. Interestingly a lot of the innovations in the software industry are fuelled by abstraction and automation, concepts that are well-known in the MDD community. As the world is awakening to these concepts there is a clear opportunity (and need!) to bring MDD to a much broader audience. In this keynote we will analyse what’s happening on all layers of the software stack. We will also explore how we can become more relevant as an MDD community. There is a ton of knowledge and experience in our community that could move the needle for a lot of companies, but are we using it? We need to stop doing what we always do. We need bold ideas and the courage to start a journey with no clear endpoint!

Python is open source and has so many libraries for data wrangling and visualization that makes life of data scientists easier. For data wrangling pandas is used as it represent tabular data and it has other function to parse data from different sources, data cleaning, handling missing values, merging data sets etc. To visualize data, low level matplotlib can be used. But it is a base package for other high level packages such as seaborn, that draw well customized plot in just one line of code. Python has dash framework that is used to make interactive web application using python code without javascript and html. These dash application can be published on any server as well as on clouds like google cloud but freely on heroku cloud.

Tutorial at OAI5 (cern.ch/oai5). Abstract: This tutorial will provide a practical overview of current practices in modelling complex or compound digital objects. It will examine some of the key scenarios around creating complex objects and will explore a number of approaches to packaging and transport. Taking research papers, or scholarly works, as an example, the tutorial will explore the different ways in which these, and their descriptive metadata, can be treated as complex objects. Relevant application profiles and metadata formats will be introduced and compared, such as Dublin Core, in particular the DCMI Abstract Model, and MODS, alongside content packaging standards, such as METS MPEG 21 DIDL and IMS CP. Finally, we will consider some future issues and activities that are seeking to address these. The tutorial will be of interest to librarians and technical staff with an interest in metadata or complex objects, their creation, management and re-use.

These manual processes do not scale well. Not only is the variety of data increasing, also the rate of change in the data definitions is increasing. We can’t keep up. NoSQL data repositories can handle storage, but we need effective models of the data to fully utilize it. This talk will present tools and a methodology to manage Big Data Models in a rapidly changing world.
