C astries, Saint L ucia 17th , O ctober, 2013 The United Workers Party continues its ongoing
dialogue with social partners when it meets today with the National Workers Union (NWU).
This is the latest in a series of meetings which includes as well engagements with Saint Lucians
in the Caribbean and extra-regional Diaspora.
meeting follows a September 16th Press Statement issued by the leading Union
expressing concern over continuing job losses and calls from both the Saint Lucia Chamber of
Commerce and Agriculture as well as the Saint Lucia Manufacturers Association for
appropriate remedial measures by the Government.
Like the recent meeting with Saint Lucians in the United Kingdom, today s sit down with the
National Workers Union forms part of an ongoing process of consultations which will inform
the formulation o
consultation with social partners and Saint Lucians overseas as we seek to devise a rescue plan
for our nation with the input of all concerned/patriotic Saint Lucians.
