Meaning of Counseling
 It is helping relationship which includes
      someone seeking help,
      someone willing to help,
      capable and trained to help,
      In a setting that permits help to be given and received.
 Both are not synonymous terms. Counseling is the
  part of guidance, not all of it. Counseling as a group
  of service which make up the guidance programme
  generally accepted.

Concept of Counseling
 It is relationship of two person, in which one of
  them attempts to assist other is organizing himself to
  attain
 An accepted, trusting and safe relationship and
  client openly discuss their problem and
 acquires the social skills courage self confidence.
 The relationship between two person i.e. counselor
  (professionally trained person) and counselee.
 To develop a set of goals for future behaviors of
  individuals.

Counseling is a method that helps client to
use a problem solving process to recognize
and manage stress and that facilities
interpersonal relationship among client family
and health care system.

Needs of counseling
1. To help the client to accept or impeding change
   that are resulting from stress (psychological,
   emotional, intellectual and spiritual support)
2. To foster cognitive, behavioral development
   emotional growth in client
3. To encourage and develop special abilities and
   right attitudes
4. To assist the students in planning for educational
   and vocational choices
5. To help students in the proper choice of course
   according to the interest, aptitude and intelligence
   of the students.

   personality, emotional stability, flexibility and
   adaptability, mentally and physically sound, sense
   of humor, confidence, knowledgeable.
3. Scholastic potentiality and educational
   background: broad knowledge and skills related to
   counseling process, well motivated and committed,
   capacity to work, positive interest.
