2. Applying for Graduation
When you register for your last semester of
coursework, you need to apply for graduation. To
do this, follow the steps below:
1. Pick up an application at the BMS office, Kelly Hall
room 213 or request one to be sent to you via email.
The form can also be downloaded from the Registrar’s

2. The application can be returned to the BMS office in
person, by email, or by fax.
3. Clearing for Graduation
Once the application is received, your records will
be verified. You will be notified once the process is
complete.
If you clear for graduation, your application will be signed
by the Dean and forwarded to the Registration and
Records office for processing. They will post your
application fee to your account.
If you do not clear for graduation, you will be notified via
email of the reasons.
4. Commencement
If your application is processed, you will be
receiving emails regarding Commencement.
Commencement ceremonies
• Spring commencement is in May
• Students can walk in the May commencement if they are within 6
hours of completing their degree in the summer.
• Fall commencement is in December
If you plan to enroll in a mini-mester, talk to your
advisor regarding which commencement you can
attend.
5. Honors
If you have a GPA of 3.5 or above and 60
institutional credit hours, you are eligible for honors
distinctions.
• 3.5-3.79 cum laude
• 3.8-3.89 magna cum laude
• 3.9-4.0 summa cum laude
If you do not have 60 hours, your transfer credits
may be considered if all transcripts show a GPA of
3.5 or above.
