useful tools for curriculum and research needs.

6. IMPACT ON STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Students will have 24/7 access to resources
from any where with internet access to help
with projects, research papers, reading skills,
suggested reading lists, and much more.
Students will be able to check out eBooks
from anywhere with internet access. This
would provide more opportunities to read
more books and not be depended on
physically visiting the library.
7. TEACHING AND LEARNING INFORMATION
LITERACY.
Develop inquiry-driven curricular units.
Teach content and research skills through
library classroom lessons
Build information literacy skills and identify
appropriate tools for collecting, communicating,
finding , and using information.
Revamp the Accelerated Reader program by
adding more appealing incentives for students
and getting teachers on board with promotion of
program.
8. IMPACT ON STUDENT ACHIEVMENT
A well developed curriculum will ensure
needed literacy skills are being taught in a
timely manner.
Students will be educated on proper
research skills and research paper writing
skills.
Revamping and promoting a new AR
program will get students more excited about
reading and increase reading overall.
9. INCREASE COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT BY ESTABLISHING MORE
MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS.
Collaborate with the local public library as well
as the local collegiate library to organize interlibrary loans, events, etc.
Attend local council meetings to align the media
center with the local community leaders to
establish support for media center programs.
Collaborate with the local museum to establish
a relationship and attain information, resources,
etc. for school curriculum.
Reach out to private organizations as well as
commercial companies for support and
resources.
10. IMPACT ON STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Gaining community support will help with
fund raising efforts to purchase more
resources for the media center and the
students.
Bringing in outside resources, such as guest
speakers and events will help get students
involved and wanting to visit the media
center.
Making reading more exciting by adding new
faces and places will improve overall reading
among students.
11. IMPROVE THE MEDIA CENTER LEARNING ENVIRONMENT SO THAT
IT IS MORE CONDUCIVE TO CONSTRUCTIVE STUDENT ACTIVITY.
Develop a plan for recruiting volunteers,
including incentives and guidelines.
Develop training program for volunteers.
Rearrange media center furniture to create
areas to accommodate both collaborative
and independent work.
12. IMPACT ON STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Adding volunteers will increase supervision,
and take over some of the day to day
responsibilities, allowing students more time
to visit the media center. This will also allow
the media specialist more time to assists in
students needs.
Having designated areas will allow for more
activities to be done in the media center
without disturbing others.
