The queen's fritters
1. O nce upon a time, when the Catholic Monarchs lived. They
wanted to reconquer Granada and they ordered their armies to
camp, in a place called Santa Fe, near Granada that was a moor’s
city in Spain. The next day, the Spanish armies started the attack
to Granada which was very defendant with wide walls and castles
and with many strong, brave and strongly armed moors.
On the all Saints Day, the Spanish people have an old custom:
eating the hollow fritters. This day, according to the old custom,
the Queen Elisabeth wanted to eat fritters but there wasn’t any
cook in the army.
In the army Gonzalez, called Great Captain, had a nice and manly
face. Gonzalo was attacked by the moors. He was ashamed and
upset, and attacked the moors with his sword.
The Great Captain thought the army was very important. In the
Ceriñola and Garellano battles, the Spanish army won the two
stronger French armies. Only he knew to use the new army

He realized the Queen wanted to eat fritters and he was said that

2. The Great Captain brought her before the Monarchs. The queen
was thankful but scolded Great Captain for risking his life by the
fritters.
The Great Captain learnt that he had to be more clever and not to
be involved in adventures.
