The report presents elaborately the
design research methodology, design
process, literature review, user study.
During this process I have got an op-
portunity to study the transport system
of Vienna, which is considered to be
one of the efficient model. I have done
the ethnographic research, field visits
and surveys to compare and contrast
with the Indian transport model and
observe the perception of the Indian
public towards the Traffic system and
their methods of accessing Real Time
Information.

Also, I have developed the concepts
with the detailed designs and the pro-
totypes.

the study is further used to generate
the concepts of integrating the Real

- One of the major challenges for the
traffic system in Bangalore is the traf-
fic education of motorists and pedes-
trians.The discipline in the drivers,
pedestrians can be considered the root
cause of majority of accidents.

Lack of lane discipline, jumping sig-
nals , triple riding , over speeding are
some of the frequent violations.

Also majority of the commuters use
two wheeler which add to the conges-
tion on roads and pollution.
However there is an increasing trend in
the use of public transport like metro
and buses.

Overall there is a lot of scope for
Bangalore city to come up with effi-
cient traffic and transport system.
Since it is early stages and adopting
good technology , a strong design
sense has to be inculcated for a
uniform and efficient system.

During this process I have got an op- portunity to study the transport system of Vienna, which is considered to be one of the efficient model. I have done the ethnographic research, field visits and surveys to compare and contrast with the Indian transport model and observe the perception of the Indian public towards the Traffic system and their methods of accessing Real Time Information. Also, I have developed the concepts with the detailed designs and the pro- totypes. 2

  • 45. Real Time Information - One of the major challenges for the traffic system in Bangalore is the traf- fic education of motorists and pedes- trians. The discipline in the drivers, pedestrians can be considered the root cause of majority of accidents. Lack of lane discipline, jumping sig- nals , triple riding , over speeding are some of the frequent violations. Also majority of the commuters use two wheeler which add to the conges- tion on roads and pollution. However there is an increasing trend in the use of public transport like metro and buses. Overall there is a lot of scope for Bangalore city to come up with effi- cient traffic and transport system. Since it is early stages and adopting good technology , a strong design sense has to be inculcated for a uniform and efficient system. 45
