- Changing aesthetics to match what changing environment has to offer. These forests are in the early stages of recovery. Small trees have knots, stain, CHARACTER. Think of as similar to conventional vs unbleached paper or cotton. Character is natural and beautiful. Convention calls for large, ‘defect’ free pieces. Widespread ultra-high quality specs have specific, damaging results for forest ecosystems. Realistic, educated specs call for RESTORATIVE products.
