 Major Project : “Automatic load shedding and intelligent streetlight system”.
Description:
This project aims at designing and executing of advanced development in the load shedding and
streetlight system to save the energy. The present system is like, streetlights will be switched on in the
evening before sunset and they are switched off the next day morning after there is sufficient light on the
roads and in case of load shedding system, the present system needs a mechanical work like a man going to
the specified area and remove the switch for a specified time and after the duration he must again go and
put on the switch. Our project gives the solution for both the problems as to automatically switch on and off
the streetlights during dusk and down.During late-night hours, the intensity gets reduced progressively to
50% and whenever any object comes near the streetlight brightness will increase to 100%. This we are
doing by using the proximity sensor. In our system of load shedding we can switch on/off the power of
specified area just by sending SMS to the control office. We are using arduino microcontroller as a
controller for our project.
