2. ITS GROUP is founded by Mr. Niteen Vaidya in
1991 having experience of more than 25 years in
field of instrumentation engineering.
ITS GROUP specialized in
1. Servicing
2. Instrument Calibration
3. Predictive and preventive maintenance studies
4. Customized projects
5. Trading
6. Star balancing ( associate firm )
specialized in
7. Vibration analysis/online balancing etc
4. It is non-contact – uses remote sensing
Keeps the user out of danger
Does not intrude upon or affect the target at all
It is two-dimensional
Comparison between areas of the target is possible
The image allows for excellent overview of the
target
Thermal patterns can be visualised for analysis
It is real time
Enables very fast scanning of stationary targets
Enables capture of fast moving targets
Enables capture of fast changing thermal patterns
6. Heat is the energy exchanged between systems having
different temperatures.
So, when there is no
temperature difference, the
infrared image does not show
any contrast and there is no
analysis possible!
7. Infrared is similar to
visible.
An infrared camera also
uses colours to represent
the thermal world it
sees.
Big difference:
COLORS IN AN
INFRARED IMAGE
EXPRESS BOTH
REFLECTION AND
EMISSSION.

Fire & Risk management.
26. Compressed air
is used in almost every facility and
manufacturing plant.
The cost of generation, however, is often
overlooked by plant managers, maintenance, and
production. Air is not free.
Ultrasound can be used to save $10,000's, even
$100,000's annually in energy savings.
27. Several methods are most popular in the practical
detection of com-pressed air leaks:
– detection of leaks based on sensory perception,
– detection of leaks by bubble test [10],
– ultrasound leak detection, and
– infrared leak detection.

29. Detection, quantification, and repair of leaks contributes
to: reduction of operating time of equipment, which
prolongs its operating life; avoidance of unnecessary
compressor capacity; avoidance of pressure fluctuations
which deteriorate tool operation quality and di-minish
efficiency of equipment, potentially leading to production
breakdowns; avoidance of extra maintenance time, i. e.
reduction of maintenance costs, reduction of tied assets,
i.e. spare parts, better utilization of maintenance
personnel, reduction of noise level in workplace.
31. Size Cost per Year
1/16“ $523
1/8“ $2,095
1/4“ $8,382
Costs calculated using electricity
rate of $0.05 per kWh, assuming
constant operation and an efficient
compressor.

33. Reliability and quality of power has become one
of the most critical issues facing businesses today.
For critical loads Such as transformers , motors ,
computers hardware components. instrumentations &
control systems and protective devices , anything less
than high quality power and reliability means
possibility of equipment malfunctioning & system down
time.
Hence the quality power is an essential element to
keep the equipment in good condition.
34. A distorted sine wave form can be resolved into many sine
waves of different amplitude and multiples of the fundamental
frequency , which are called harmonics Non linear loads generate
harmonics.
A Nonlinear load (drive) draws current in a non-sinusoidal manner
consider a sinusoidal voltage E connected to a nonlinear load .
The load may be a rectifier or a set of mechanical switches that
open and close periodically.
On account of non – linearity the current will not be sinusoidal.
It will contain a fundamental component 1 and the harmonic
components 1 .
The fundamental component is produced by the sinusoidal
voltage E, but the harmonic components are generated by the load
clearly, the harmonic currents flow in the sinusoidal source E as
well as in the load. It is common to refer heating as 1 R losses.
The total losses In the power system during the presence of
harmonics
35. HARMONIC PROBLEMS WITHIN THE INSTALLATION
There are several common problem areas caused by harmonics :
Problems caused by harmonic currents :
Overloading of neutrals
Overheating of transformers
Nuisance tripping of circuit breakers
Over-stressing of power factor correction capacitors
Skin effect
