 The Smart Cities Mission is a bold new initiative of the
Government of India to drive economic growth and improve the
quality of life of people by enabling local development and
harnessing technology as a means to create smart outcomes for
citizens
 To provide for the aspirations and needs of the citizens.
 Aim at developing the entire urban eco-system, which is
represented by the four pillars of comprehensive development-
institutional, physical, social and economic infrastructure.
 Pune Smart City proposal won the 2nd prize after bhubaneswar
when the initiative was launched by Govt. of Inda

 Amongst each team, decide one person to act as Scrum Master,
One Product Owner, others are development team
 Each Table will be given one Objective of the Smart City
initiative of Pune Municipality
 You need to come up with an Agile approach of solving this
Objective and executing the projects as part of the objective.

 Road & Road Widening : seamless
smooth transportation and
interconnectivity is critical
 Redesign of Streets : Infrastructure for
pedestrians, cyclists and differently
abled, safety of non-motorized citizens
 Footpath’s Retrofit : footpath should
not have utility supports like electric
poles etc hindering the thoroughfare,
accessible through a combination of
zebra crossings
 Bus Stops : making the wait
comfortable/less arduous for citizens
and secondly ensuring complete
availability of information at the bus
stop

every year, for the next 10 years.
 Making all houses provided with basic
amenities like water, electicity,
telephone line, zone/ward allocation

 Online billing of services : Water ,
Electricity, Sewage, Garbage, internet etc
 Website, IVR for all services.
 Smart metering of utility.
 single point of contact for grievances,
enquiries for all services
As on records there are
110,000 residential connections
42,650 commercial connections
This is just 50% of all connections.
 Recording & Classify each connection
appropriately (domestic, commercial,
education, industrial etc.) is an important
prerequisite to be done

 Stop pollution of river water through
sources as dumping of garbage, release
of untreated sewage and effluents and
several other sources of pollution
 River beautification
 Remove weeds & Garbage
 Build alternative sewage capacity which
is sufficient enough to collect the year
on year increasing sewage and hence
avoid dumping them into the river

 Attract investors & make infrastructure
provision for creation of a couple of
incubators, accelerators and early-
stage venture capital (VC) funds.
 An 8-acre area to develop a start-up
zone has been earmarked, but it has to
be develop, to create a culture of
innovation and promote mixed-use
development
 The startup zone should enhance
entrepreneurship which would lead to
create at least 40,000 to 45,000 jobs
creation till 2020.

by coordinating with PMC, PCMC &

citizens an avenue for engagement and

 Waste Water Recycling : Improve waste
water capacity to treate sewage water
and recylce them back into the usage by
society
 Storm water use : Storm water drainage
to drain high peak flows away & reuse
them
 Rain Water Harvesting : To ease the water
crisis rainwater harvesting project is
important to manage 24x7 water supply to
the city through out the year

Objective for Table 5 : Startup Zone  Attract investors & make infrastructure provision for creation of a couple of incubators, accelerators and early- stage venture capital (VC) funds.  An 8-acre area to develop a start-up zone has been earmarked, but it has to be develop, to create a culture of innovation and promote mixed-use development  The startup zone should enhance entrepreneurship which would lead to create at least 40,000 to 45,000 jobs creation till 2020.
