Trinity Sunday - Acts 2 & Matthew 28
1. A Prayer for the People of God
Holy God, in calling forth creation from the void,
revealing yourself in human flesh,
and pouring forth your wisdom to guide us,
you manifest your concern for your whole universe.
Fill us with strength and courage, with discernment
and compassion, that we may be your instruments
of justice and love in this world, that it may be
on earth as it is in heaven.
Amen.
7. “This is the Jesus we’re talking about!
God raised him from the dead, and all
of us here are witnesses to the fact!
Now he’s been exalted to God’s right
hand; and what you see and hear is
the result of the fact that he is pouring
out the holy spirit, which had been
promised, and which he has received
from the father.”
ACTS
2:32-33
(KNT)
8. So the eleven disciples went off
to Galilee, to the mountain where
Jesus had instructed them to go.
There they saw him, and worshipped
him, though some hesitated. Jesus came
toward them and addressed them.
“All authority in heaven and on earth,”
he said, “has been given to me!
MATT
28:16-18
(KNT)
9. So you must go and make all the nations
into disciples. Baptize them in the name
of the father, and of the son, and of
the holy spirit. Teach them to observe
everything I have commanded you.
And look: I am with you, every single
day, to the very end of the age.”
MATT
28:19-20
(KNT)

15. The inner life of the triune God…
is characterized…by mutually
self-giving love. Each of the divine
persons centers upon the others.
None demands that the others
revolve around them. Each voluntarily
circles the other two, pouring love,
delight and adoration into them.
Each person of theTrinity loves, adores,
defers to, and rejoices in
the others.That creates a dynamic,
pulsating dance of joy and love.

17. “It is not just alone or in isolation
that we are the image of God,
it is collectively and together
that we are the image of God.
There is no single people that
could adequately image the
image of God…when we
get together collectively
we image God.”

19. Prayer
God, whose fingers sculpt sun and moon,
yet see into the hearts of all humankind;
Spirit, brooding over chaos before the naming of day;
Savior, sending us to earth's ends with water and words:
startle us with the grace, love, and communion
of your unity in diversity, that we may live
to the praise of your majestic name.
Amen.
