ABOUT US :
An NGO, run by group of socially active, determined &
educated youths, aims to educate underprivileged children.
We are here with a thought: "Why only we? Why not the
children living in slums have an access to quality education?"
Neither we nor they chose the families we are born and also
there is no such right that bestows the blessing of education
upon us… only us. Every time we think of these children, a
question arises in our mind- "What if all these facilities, which
we are enjoying, weren't available to us?"
Light de Literacy has been started to provide quality education
to underprivileged children. We have been working for children
living in slums since 2012 and now we have started working
under the name “LIGHT DE LITERACY”. ‘Light de literacy’
means ‘साक्षरता का प्रकाश’ & our tag line ‘एक आशा नवननर्ााण की’
clearly shows our vision for the future guided by the motto
Educate * Empower * Enlighten. We are keen to bring a large
scale change, which has to begin by taking small initiatives. We
are determined to work in collaboration with diverse sections of
society, viz., local communities, parents, teachers, socially
active members & various schools.
Our prime focus will be education, and that also, in villages and
other undeveloped areas where mostly uneducated & the poor
are living.
We will provide free education & other important facilities to the
needy children so that they can open the doors of the career of
their choice.

MISSION:
* To identify and educate children and make them self-
dependent so that they can become dignified members of the
society & have a common platform with others in terms of
social equality and justice.
* To make children discover their hidden potentials so that they
can be the change in society.
MOTIVE:
Our organization works with the main objective of educating the
children in misery. The children who are not able to receive
education due to their deteriorated background and incapability
of their parents to support them financially.
As our motto speaks out “Educate Empower Enlighten” the
children. This is our prime focus. All the members of the
organization, working hand-in-hand, always try to provide the
best fit education to these children.
The sincere motive of the organization is to bring all round
development of the children, physically, mentally and morally,
to mould them into sound personalities.
WHAT WE HAVE DONE:
All the members of our organization are working since two
years for the welfare of these underprivileged children. We had
initiated our work by teaching about 20 children on daily basis
at a slum in Pratap Vihaar, Ghaziabad.
We were able to extend our service to a new slum in Samrat
Chowk area, where we are teaching about 30 students.
Apart from teaching, a number of events, on the occasions of
Republic day & Independence Day, are also conducted by our

team. Since the financial condition of these children & their
families is not good, they don’t have sufficient clothes to cover
their bodies against the odds of nature. In this respect, at
regular intervals, we distribute clothes among these children
and their families. These clothes are collected from our
colleagues and neighbours, who willingly want to help them.
Stationery items along with basic primary books are also
distributed among children.
We also organize award ceremony for our children who
performed well in their respective classes named ‘Pratibha
Samman Samaroh’ where we honour young talents.
Further, We have extended our work through a new Literacy
Camp at Kaala Pathar near Indirapuram, Ghaziabad where we
teach about 30 children.
Then, We have extended our work by collaborating through
students of two prestigious institutes, i.e. Raj Kumar Goel
Institute of Technology (RKGIT), Ghaziabad & JSS Academy of
Technical Education, Noida.
We run two of our Literacy Camps near RKGIT Campus where
we teach about 50 & 30 children respectively.
Our Indirapuram Camp is coordinated by team of our JSS Unit.
Apart From all that, we run one more Literacy Camp at Vidya
Nagar, Bhopal where we teach about 30 children.
We find lots of appreciation for our work but the foremost is that
the children take great interest in their studies. Some of them
are very good at studies. We love the smile on their faces when
they do something which they think they could not do.

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS:
Our best achievement is to see our children growing and
flourishing. Children, who show their interest in studies and
have extra potential, are admitted in schools. Till now we have
admitted 13 children in 5 different schools viz. Lucent
International School, Dayal Public School, Sarthak Public
School, Shikhar Public School & Adarsh Junior High
School and they are doing very well in their studies. 4 of these
children are regularly securing 1st
/2nd
rank in their respective
classes. These children have potential, ability and are
enthusiastic to study.
Here is the list of children who are studying in school:

HOW WE COLLECT FUNDS FOR THESE CHILDREN:
We, only at our level, are not able to raise enough money to
help these children in paying their fees, buying uniforms and
other related expenses. So, we rely on the donation from our
acquaintances. Until now, we collected donations from our
colleagues, neighbours, family members and our elders. We
approach a number of people in the societies nearby us, tell
them about our work, and request them to help the needy
children. Quite a few were very much inspired by us. Few
supports us by donating cash, few through clothes and
stationery items. We really appreciate everyone’s support.
OUR METHODOLOGY:
*Firstly, we identify the slum or any undeveloped area where
economically weaker sections of society are existing.
*We provide them basic primary education for a short period
and they are under consistent observation during this period.
*We check their levels by conducting test of basic subjects
(English, Hindi, Mathematics) along with we keep close watch
on interest and curiosity of child towards studies.
*We talk to their parents, make them understand and aware
about importance of quality education and from their final
consent we admit their children to nearby private schools.

FUTURE PLANS:
We aim to bring a large scale change. As this is our first step
towards expansion of our united thoughts as a team, we are
giving our maximum possible effort so that we can cover
maximum number of children. We have planned to admit 50
children to private schools by the end of admission process of
this session.
For this we also need to expand our organization. So,
simultaneously we are also working on that. We are focussed in
a way such that this organization reaches to maximum possible
people and we have targeted to work in collaboration with
students of at least 8-10 different colleges by the end of this
year.
As we are also concerned about long term plan, we are fully
dedicated to help these children throughout their higher
education & we are totally aware of what it takes. We planned
to admit them in schools having hostel facilities so that they can
get the proper atmosphere for their studies which, otherwise, is
not possible in the type of localities they dwell in.
EXPECTED EXPENSES:
As we are already providing school education to 10 children,
we have very well concluded core requirement for these
children:
