This is actually a preparation step. The better you prepare, the more confident you will be when you speak out.

When preparing for the public speech, you should know who your audience will be. If they are your colleagues, choose the topic which is work-oriented. If they are students, choose the topic which is future-oriented. Try your best to make them understand what you want to tell.
Practice is the key to success. The harder you practice, the easier you will succeed in public speaking. It is a good idea to practice speaking in front of a mirror before your real presentation. You can also practice to a relative, friend, or your dog.
5. Don’t Read Your Speech
Reading speech will never make your presentation successful. The audience comes there as they want to listen to what you say rather than what you read. Therefore, look at your audience when you speak. You should write down all the main ideas so that you can take a glance at them sometimes.

Your body language shows the audience whether you are confident of what you say. The way you stand, walk, and move your hands can also partially determine your success.
9. Maintain Sincere Eye Contact
You should look straight into some audience’s eyes for 3 seconds sometimes. Maintain good eye contact with some of the audience, as well as, glance at the whole audience as many times as possible during your presentation. Try to make everyone feel involved with your eye contact.
