3. Company Description Background - Vaco was founded in Nashville, TN in September 2002 by a group of former Big Four CPAs with project consulting leadership experience. Vaco’s goal is to provide flexible solutions for our clients’ project, consulting, and recruiting needs. Vaco Raleigh, LLC was formed in September of 2004. Dave Rhode, Sid Mitchener and Crystal Hughes are the local partners. Vaco Raleigh was the fifth Vaco office formed. Experience - Our Raleigh team has over 300 years of combined experience in accounting, finance, information technology, operations/supply chain, and executive search which enables us to truly understand our clients’ needs. Each Vaco practice area is led by an experienced associate with years of industry - specific experience. 4. Awards The Inc. 500 Vaco has been awarded the Inc. 500 Award two years in a row, ranking #33 in 2007 and #330 in 2008. The Inc./Inc. 5,000 Conference and Awards Ceremony is an annual event produced by Inc. magazine. It was created in 1982 to celebrate the fastest growing private companies in America. In 1982, Inc. magazine published the Inc. 100; the following year, the list expanded to the Inc. 500, and in 2007, Inc. magazine, in conjunction with Inc.com, released the Inc. 5,000 list. Triangle Business Journal Fast 50 Vaco has been awarded the Fast 50 two years in a row, ranking #5 in 2007 and #12 in 2008. Triangle Business Journal annually recognizes the 50 fastest growing private companies in the Triangle. Pinnacle Award Vaco was awarded the Pinnacle Award in 2008. The Pinnacle Business Awards Celebration is one of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce’s most prestigious events. 5. Awards Women in Business The Woman in Business Award was given to Vaco partner, Crystal Hughes in 2008. Presented annually, the Women In Business award honors 25 Triangle female executives who have displayed exemplary leadership within their industry profession and remained active in supporting the Triangle community at large.
