                    • Ancient Rome made enduring cultural
contributions to western culture in areas
                      such as philosophy, history, art,
                      architecture, religion, engineering and
                      political thought.
                    • Students need to appreciate the
                      enormous contribution made by the
Ancient Romans to present day society.

          • Students need to learn about the Roman Republic,
the expansion of one of the world’s greatest
empires, the Roman Empire. and the lives, beliefs
and action of some of the emperors. This is
            achieved in the following ways.
          • Through an experiential approach students feel and
think what it was like to live in Ancient Rome.
          • It is crucial that students learn this in ways that
            relate to their mindset.
          • Our material facilitates this learning in an efficient
            and sensitive manner.

                         • The basis of western religious
thought and worship was born in
                           Ancient Rome.
                         • Today, over a third of the world’s
                           population (over two billion) worship
some form of Christianity and it is
                           important that those in western
                           society acknowledge and learn about
                           its birth, growth and spread.

          • Through an experiential approach students feel and think
what it was like to live in Ancient Rome.
          • They achieve this, in part, through stories which include
“Romulus and Remus”, “The Death of Lucretia”,
            “Horatius”, “Hannibal”, “Julius Caesar”, “Augustus”,
“Fucius the Wine Merchant”, “The Destruction of
Pompeii”, “A Tour of Pompeii”, “Latius: A Boy’s Story”,
“Philia: A Lady of Society”, “A Roman Legend: Pyramus
and Thisbe”, “A Roman Legend : Cupid and Psyche”,
“Paul of Tarsus”, “Claudius the Christian” and
“Constantine”, while students act the drama “Cupid &
Psyche” and recreate a simulation of the Battle of Zama.
