The author visited the churches of many influential pastors over a weekend to conduct interviews. The security measures and office spaces of the pastors varied greatly between churches, from nothing to extensive security and offices ranging widely in size and personalization. After interviews, many pastors gave tours where the author saw creative messaging and facilities/vehicles that ranged from simple to gorgeous. Most churches seemed to have ongoing construction projects, and office staff were usually comfortable with another visitor. The author thanked the pastors for sharing about the exciting work God was doing through their churches.

2. Before each interview or visit, I checked out your church website. Many are quite creative!

3. I got to visit some churches over a weekend, when the real activity was happening.

4. I visited an incredible range of churches, from urban to rural, from new to old.

5. After following good signage, security access ranged all over the map - nothing to lots.

6. Many interviews were in the pastor’s meeting office, a surprising number with no desk.

8. All were personalized and distinctive. Office size was all over the map.

9. Most pastors sat in a comfortable chair, and I hope they were energized by our interview.

10. Many took me on a tour after our interview. I saw a lot of good messaging and creativity.

11. I saw everything from the simple to the gorgeous, both in facilities and vehicles.

12. Most churches had construction happening at some level; this was the most extensive.

13. Most office staff seemed comfortable to have yet another visitor walk through.
