Model Based FDD can help with the design of your sustainable building.
Waternomics Model Based
Fault Detection and Diagnosis
helps to implement
sustainable water network
The need for an efficient Water Management System (WMS) is strongly felt by water uIliIes, municipaliIes and
in general by corporates that have to face every day with problems dealing with water usage and supply. An
automated system to implement the fault detecIon in the water network at an early stage is essenIal to
manage the water resource in a sustainable way by avoiding both the waste of the natural resource and the
waste of money
Save water and money with Waternomics Model Based FDD
This problem of fault detecIon is more severe when we have to
face cases in which large water network are implied and where,
due the many variables coming into play, it could be very
difficult to detect anomalies or fault in the system. In these
cases the Model based Fault DetecIon & Diagnosis (FDD) could
be appropriate. This is the case study addressed at the Linate
airport (Milan – Italy) where for the first Ime we merged
together a hydraulic model simulaIon with an FDD algorithm
(ADWICE) to detect abnormality in the operaIonal phase of the
water network.
Waternomics FDD applied to the Linate airport
Being more accurate in localized leakages is
an advantage in terms of detecIon and
diagnosis and this helps municipality,
household and in general corporate to save
water and money. The model based FDD
method proposed could help in doing this.
